mac09hack
I was concerned about using the new 10.10.4 trim force on a Samsung EVO-850 500GB SSD drive. I contacted Samsung tech support on line and asked them - what about using the 10.10.4 trim force on their EVO and PRO 840-850 SSD drives. Here is their answer to my question Dear Customer, Thank you for contacting Samsung Support regarding your concerns and inquiries. We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing you. You can enable TRIM on MAC. There are no issues. Linux users are experiencing an issue with Queued TRIM, which only Linux uses, but it is easily fixable. Windows and OSX have no issues with TRIM on our drives. Thank you again for contacting Samsung Support and have a good day.
aopisa
All I can say is the enabling TRIM on my Samsung 850 EVO 500GB Hackintosh running 10.10.3 created a lot of issues for me. Seems to run fine without TRIM.
gengik84
Seems to run fine without TRIM. Hi, I really do not have favorable not to use the trim on ssd. The trim will protect and prolong life. If you are using clover as a bootloader, you put the patch.
