DAXGr
try layout id 28 (1C) with AppleALC or layout id 4 ok that was embarrassing. I thought I had tried layout-id 28. Fixed with layout-id 28.
nhox.blue
@nhox.blue Please Report! Do all connections work with the new Kext (Speaker / Mic / HP / LineIn)? No subwoofer is configured in the kext. For this I need again a codec_dump of Linux! This requires 2x internal speakers (1st speakers / 2nd subwoofer) and these are connected with Midi-Setup. My laptop works very well with subwoofer. Your codec has only one speaker connector. Therefore, please codec_dump! Yeah all of the connections work but the subwoofer doesn't. Here is my codec dump file, sorry for late reply In ubuntu , I installed hda jack retask and I override all un-connected pins with 'Internal Speaker' then the subwoofer works in Ubuntu. card1-codec#0.txt
MacPeet
I look at the codec_dump. What OSX version do you currently have?

MacPeet
Try this (LayoutID 3): try1_AppleHDA_ALC290_HP_ENVY_15t_k000_Sierra.kext.zip try2_AppleHDA_ALC290_HP_ENVY_15t_k000_Sierra.kext.zip If the second speaker (bassbox) is visible, then you must connect both speakers in the Midi-Setup. nhox.blue
I tried but neither of them worked. The bass still doesn't work and there is no option of the second speaker visible. The treble speaker and the microphone still work.
MacPeet
Yes, Linux or Ubuntu is Voodoo audio. These have more access to mixers and nodes. With OSX it is not so easy. Your codec_dump has many disnabled devices speaker: 22 = "Speaker (zero) Playback Switch" 23 = "Speaker Surround Playback Switch" 24 = "Speaker CLFE Playback Switch" 27 = "Speaker Side Playback Switch" OSX does not accept it. Very very difficult. Here the dump: dump.zip You could test VoodooHDA on OSX and make a VoodooDump. Maybe you can see which nodes are used.
