Hi,

Just wanted to share some feedback.

I've managed to boot to the installer with the following changes:

 1. The computer rebooted after "launchd exited with abnormal state: 255" before the machine rebooted. I've found on other threads that this is likely to be caused by a missing FakeSMC.kext. I've put the file in the folder (Volume EFI)/Clover/kexts/Other.
 2. Gathering from other threads I've deleted all the (Volume EFI)/Clover/kexts/10.xxxx folders and moved all the kext-files into the "Other" folder. Not sure if this is still a problem, might be related to an older version of Clover(?)
 3. In the Clover Configurator there are a bunch of options checked in the "ACPI" section. I've removed all of those.
 4. Clover couldn't see my SATA drives (HDD drives) - so I rerun the Clover(r3882) installation tool and in the "CloverEFI" section I upgraded to CloverEFI 64-bits BiosBlockIO option. Re-installed Clover (and redid all the stuff in the EFI partition)... and voila.

I hope the above will help somebody else

Obviously, I am not sure which one was the one who really did the trick, but the combination seemed to work.

After this, El Capitan installed without furhter problems. I put Clover (with the 64-bit BiosBlock IO) option on the drive. I've added the kexts as described in zZorro's guide.

I can boot but not with the nvidia Driver (it will reboot right before switching to login). Any tips where I could start searching?

thanks

@theoldshark: thanks for your inputs. I will look at your EFI - maybe I can find two or three things I didn't know about yet (actually, I'm pretty sure ;) )

Please help me

From days ago my Z600 when i put it in hibernate mode do not wake up and turn on with the fan at max speed and screen is off

When try to boot up after shutdown the black screen with the apple instead of a continuous bar with the progress now is a several dots below the apple are turning withe and a restart happen again

Looks like a cmos reset

I have to reboot with the usb installer, even i have to boot completely the installer and shutdown to get the system able to restart from HD. I have to shutdown completely to be able to see the usb drive

The Z600 is in 10.11.5 from months without problems and i did not upgrade any software recently

I do not understand what is happen, could be an error on hardware? But once running no problems apart of some icons moved Virus? i install avast antivirus without success.

I replace the kext, config and dsdt with the copy i have but no change

If i shutdown the system no problem at all

Any Idea??

do anyone install Sierra on a Z600 with success?? I don't want to spend too much time so maybe is better a fresh install

Hi.

I have a Hp z800 with gtx780 3GB and have followed the guide verbatim with the dsdt attached therein but just cant seem to get the nvidia card working properly. During the verbose boot up screen the drivers waits for almost 30 seconds before the login window appears. After login the 'about mac'displays the correct display card info but the display is very sluggish and freezes before any GUI change is rendered onto the screen. during this time the cpu also is used quite considerably.

I am attaching the vanilla dsdt along here if anyone having requisite knowledge since even if i remove the errors when i compile my dsdt, the system doesnt boot from my dsdt.

any help is much appreciated since i have spent almost the entire last week in figuring it out but in vain.

Thanks.

I recommed you test with Sierra as it should have the drivers by default in the OSX.

Also checkout the Sierra installation instructions... Good luck!!!

Update: Finally got El Capitan to work with the GTX 570. I'm enabling Nvidia Inject and I can't use -v when booting, or it cannot "switch" to the graphics mode.

Otherwise the system runs really smooth.

I have two problems now with my dual boot:

On another disk I've installed Windows 10. It works fine if I set the boot order in the BIOS accordingly.

OSX sees the disk perfectly and also puts without any glitches when I specify the other disk as First Boot.

First, Clover (that sits on the OSX disk) didn't even see the Windows disk. So I used the bcdboot C:\Windows /s C: /f uefi described in other threads.

Now, Clover _can_ see the disk. But when I try to boot, a blue (Windows 10 style) screen pops up and announces the (apparently) infamous

"system32/windows.efi not found" error.

There are many guides and tips on the internet, but they focus mostly on the UEFI boards. As the Z800 is legacy, I was wondering if anybody had the same problem and how they overcame it!

Thanks  x1000 for any tips! I'm so close now ;)

Hi Jaymack, thanks a lot for your answer!! It definitively helped me along quite a bit!!

I did the following (for those who are interested)

I installed Clover (r3932) on a USB stick (FAT32, but not sure if this is important) - and it didn't work at first. For some reason Clover installed boot0ss which lead to a boot0ss:error while starting from the USB stick. I had to customize back to boot0af and the standard 64-bit SATA setting. I then saw the Windows drive in the menu as a "Boot from Legacy HD1". Windows comes up nicely.

EasyBCD I haven't tried yet.

Now I have to get Clover to re-install on the OSX disk such that I can see the legacy disks... AFAIK I had exactly the same settings in the Clover installation, so I'm not quite sure what I have to change.

Thanks again!!!

I have the same computer z800 with dual x5670 however I am stuck in a reboot loop. the installer does not appear to be working. Can you post your working EFI folder in a zip file ? I am using the USB installer with clover boot loader v3577 and El Capitan. The bootloader begins and then computer reboots.. Any ideas as to what is going on ?

Works for me :-) and for you to test...

Sierra installation procedure for Z800 with BIOS 3.60

HW Specification :

HP Z800  with BIOS version : 3.60

CPU: x2 6-core X5650 @ 2.67 GHz

RAM: 24 GB

GFX:  EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti, 3GB, 3072MB,GDDR5 384bit

Sonnos Tempo SSD ACHI Controller

SSD: Samsung SSD 840 EVO 500GB & 256 GB  Corsair Force GT

Monitor: Samsung 4K, 3840 x 2160 Resolution (UHD)

Before you begin ensure that you have a running OSX installation an downloaded the following tools:

-        Clover Configurator

-        ESP Mounter Pro 1.0

-        "Kext Utility"

Start by downloading the following:

-        OS X Sierra through “AppStore”

-        Bootloader “Clover (latest)

-        Patched DSDT for Z800 ,

-        Kext’s: “LegacyAppleAHCIPortIntelICHx.kext & AppleHDA  & CodecCommander.kext & NullCPUPowerManagement.kext”

1. Create Sierra Installation media on a USB (16Gb or more)

-        Start by formatting the USB flash "Untitled", “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)”, “GUID Partition Map”

-        Open Terminal and run “sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app –nointeraction”

-        Install latest “Clover (latest)” on to your USB “Install macOS Sierra” and choose “Customized” and only the following:

         "Bootloader/Install boot0af in MBR"

"CloverEFI/CloverEFI 64-bits BiosBlockIO" (For PCIe ACHI cards)

"CloverEFI/CloverEFI 64-bits SATA" (For internal MoBo SATA)

-        Start the installation process

-        When finished mount the USB “Install macOS Sierra” EFI partition using “ESP Mounter Pro 1.6”

-        Copy EFI folder from " Install macOS Sierra/" to mounted EFI partition "/"

-        Copy DSDT to "EFI/CLOVER/ACAPI/Patched/"

-        Copy “LegacyAppleAHCIPortIntelICHx.kext & AppleHDA  & CodecCommander.kext & NullCPUPowerManagement.kext” to "EFI/CLOVER/KEXTS/Other/"

-        Start Clover Configurator and open config.plist in /EFI/CLOVER/

-        Go to  options and check  -v and and save (In my case there is no need for additional drivers so no need for ”nv_disable=1”)

-        Now you are done with the USB installation media next is to install the OSX Sierra

2. Install OSX Sierra

-        Boot on USB , Install Sierra, Reboot using the USB but this time choose the HDD with newly installed Sierra

-        Install Clover to your HDD Sierra partition

-        Mount USB “Install macOS Sierra” EFI partition and copy the EFI folder to your desktop, un-mount when done

-        Now mount the HDD Sierra EFI partition and copy the EFI folder from your desktop to mounted EFI partition "/"

-        Install this Kexts using Kext Utility "AppleHDA  & CodecCommander.kext"

-        Install nVidia drivers (In my case no need)

-        Reboot without the USB and all should be working except for the wrong amount of RAM

-        Start Clover configurator and first go to "BOOT"  and uncheck “nv_disable=1” and “-v” next go to "SMBIOS" and manually add the memory setup of your RAM by adding each slot and memory HW spec.

-

-        Reboot and now all should be working…

4. Enable Confirm Delivery of Mail Sent in Mac Mail

defaults write com.apple.mail UserHeaders '{"Return-Receipt-To" = "for e-mail@xxx.com"; "Disposition-Notification-To" = "your e-mail@xxx.com"; }'

defaults read com.apple.mail UserHeaders

defaults delete com.apple.mail UserHeaders

5. TRIM enable

- Open the Terminal

- run ”sudo trimforce enable”

I have installed on my z800 OS-X El Capitan. Everything appears to be working fine.

However I have a couple of things I still need to configure.

1) I am using an SSD connected to my Sata ports ( Not SAS. I am not using SAS for anything. All my drives are connected to Sata ports )

I can see all my Sata drives just fine and they all work fine. I do have a PCIe card with an SSD ( 2.5") installed and I can not see this SSD in Clover boot loader. I can see it just fine once I boot up in El Capitan however.

I have MS-Windows installed on this SSD so I would like to see it in Clover boot loader so I can select it and boot from it. Do you know how I can fix this? What kexts or Clover boot loader setting do I need?

2) How can I use a PS2 keyboard in OS-X ?  Legacy Bios only works with PS2 keyboard connected.

Update: I was able to fix my SSD problem by connecting all boot drives and DVD and Blu-ray drive to the sata port controller.

I have SAS enabled in bios and I connected all my storage drives in the z800 drive bays for hard drives to the SAS controller by switch the Sata cables around.

I can see all my drives now and it all works just fine.

I am using kexts - LegacyAppleAHCIPortIntelICHx.kext and AHCIportinjector.kext

I am using Clover boot loader legacy

https://www.tonymacx86.com/resources/el-capitan-post-install-tools.294/

I am using all (4) bay drives connected to the SAS controller. ( 6tb. drives )

(2) 240gb. SSD's , One for El Cap and the other for Win-10, Dual boot.

Bluray burner and DVD-RW.

I am not using the SAS controller in a Raid configuration however I could if I wanted to or I could just use the OS-X Disk utility Raid setup.

I am still using an HP USB and PS2 keyboards.

I have dual boot with El Capitan and Win-10

Everything works fine in both OS's

I think it runs better with OS-X than with MS-Windows-10. At least all the apps work in OS-X. Windows-10 has app problems.

7.2 Surround Sound Via "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2zs" or "Behringer UCA202" Audio device.

DTS, THX, Dolby Digital, Cinema Theater, Pro Logic, etc.....They all work when connected to an AV receiver via toslink.

Audigy 2zs Kexts used - kxaudiodriver.kext

HP z800 ( dual xeon x5670 hex core, total of 12-cores, 24-threads )

Memory - 48gb DDR3 ECC

CPU Liquid cooled

Hard drives - (4) 2tb and 3tb. storage drives

SSD - (2) 120gb. 2.5"

Graphics - Nvidia GT 610 El Capitan ( For MacOS Sierra you will need an Nvidia GT 630, 710, or 730 or Higher ).

Wifi-ac / bluetooth  - Apple Broadcom  bcm94360cd PCIE with adapter. ( ebay purchase ).

Audio - Creative labs Audigy 2zs or Behringer UCA202 USB audio device. ( 7.2 Surround sound. )

LG DVD-RW and Bluray burner

Dual displays ( 32-inch and 50-inch TV . 1080p ).

HP PS2 and USB keyboard and mouse.

Webcams - Logitech 610 and HP 310

Speakers - Klipsch and Yamaha AV reciever 7.2

Download my Install config and files I used for install below. Should work for HP z800, z600, z400. See Link

https://www.dropbox.com/s/lk235fzgzh2ioad/HPz800_Install_Files.zip?dl=0

For Xeon CPU's use VoodooTSCsync.kext for your appropriate CPU. Place kexts in your Install USB only ( /EFI/Clover/Kext/ ).

I would greatly appreciate if anyone is willing to help me.

Initially, I tried to follow ZorroZZ guide (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/307064-hp-z400z600z800-workstations-os-x-1010x1011x-installation/?p=2285238) for sierra on both machines listed below. Then I tried the guide for El Capitan, then I attempted trying other methods like #####.

My main problem is I cannot get any of the two machines to boot into Mac OS X installer. Currently I am working on the first machine with e5520 processor. If I use a USB 3.0 drive in the front port, the screen is stuck black even with -v flag. With USB 2.0 I get a '-' then "*********************..." then a reboot.

I would be really grateful if anyone has any advice.

Thanks.

I two systems:
Z800
1 x xeon E5520 2.40 GHz
12gb ram
Nvidia Quadro FX 1800
240gb sata drive

BIOS 3.60

Z800
2 x xeon x5650 2.66 GHz
24gb ram

Nvidia GTX970
sandisk ultra II 480gb

BIOS 3.60

You need nv_disable=1 for you nvidia card to not display a black screen.

I have written a guide here if it is any help: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/319386-guide-hp-z800-hackintosh-macos-sierra-10121/

Thank you SBC-Studios!

I think virtualization was enabled and was the cause of my earlier problems, all thanks to your guid it was very clear.

I am now able to boot into mac os x installation, however, I am not able to see my internal hard drive when I run disk utility nor am I able to see the drive in BIOS, I attempted both top port (AHCI) and the bottom port (SAS).

Any guidance appreciated.

Thank you so much for this topic that latterly change my life

I have an Avid HP Z400 Workstation

Intel® Xeon® CPU W3680  @ 3.33GHz (12 CPUs)

NVIDIA Quadro 2000

24 GB ECC-unbuffer RAM

AVID Mojo DX interface

and all working amazing on macOS better than widows

I couldn't patch may CPU dsdt (W3680) but it work fine by the dsdts you made for HPz400 and W3690

The only thing that I could complain about is the NVIDIA Web-driver which is only work good on OSX 10.11.5 ONLY  and with clover 3726 and I don't know why

Now after update OSX 11.5 to macOS 10.12.1 I have problem with NVIDIA Web-driver

I did every thing right with the EDID but the driver still give me this problem that I can't explain in the attached pic

Hello,
My HP z800 has a legacy bios.
I am running dual boot El Capitan and MS-Win-10
I am using legacy clover boot loader ( Clover_v2.3k_r3320-Legacy.pkg ) from post tools package.
https://www.tonymacx86.com/resources/el-capitan-post-install-tools.294/

I have followed tonymac guide for installation.
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...pitan-on-any-supported-intel-based-pc.172672/

I have everything working fine except for dual boot via clover boot loader.
My OS installations are fine and I can boot into them via the system bios boot options.

My problem is when I select to boot into the Window-10 disk via clover boot loader I receive this error message.

The Windows-10 message reads :
File missing or damaged File:\windows\system32\winload.efi
Error code : 0x0000225

The file is there and I ran repair commands. However this did not fix the problem.
My windows-10 installation is fine and loads correctly via system bios boot options.

I can boot into OS-X just fine. It is when I select to boot into the Windows-10 disk that I receive this error message.
There is nothing wrong with my Windows-10 installation. It works just fine.
I think the problem lies with my Clover boot loader. Dual boot works fine in all my other builds.
However in those builds I am using the UEFI bios and UEFI Clover boot loader.

I followed these instructions on how to configure dual boot

Fix Dual Booting
At this point, the machine will be booting only to Windows. Insert your El Capitan install USB drive and restart. Use F12 if needed to boot to the USB.
You should see a Clover menu. Select Boot Mac OS X from YourDriveName.
Once in OS X, mount your EFI partition with EFI Mounter v3
Go to the EFI partition
Go to EFI/Microsoft/Boot/ and rename bootmgfw.efi to bootmgfw-orig.efi
Copy EFI/CLOVER/CLOVERX64.efi to EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi
Eject the El Capitan install USB drive
Reboot
You should get a Clover menu, with the usual settings to boot to OS X and also new Windows options. To start Windows, select Boot Microsoft EFI boot menu from EFI.
After future Windows updates, Windows may reset the EFI partition to boot only to Windows again. You'll need to repeat the steps in this section.
You should now be able to boot to both Windows and OS X!

I think the problem could be the Microsoft folder boot options in the clover EFI
Or maybe I just need to use a different version of clover boot loader ?

You can download my EFI folder from link as it was to big to upload.

Direct update to MacOS Sierra with a Zotac Nvidia GT 710 graphics card.

I performed a direct update from El Capitan to MacOS Sierra.

Steps

1) Backup your main drive just in case.

2) Update to latest Clover boot loader.

3) back up your added Kexts in /s/l/e and store them in a folder on your desktop

4) download Sierra from app store.

5) begin update and let reboot.

6) at reboot I shut down the computer and replaced the graphics card with the "Zotac Nvidia GT 710" as I was using a "GT 610" and is not supported in Sierra.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&Description=zotac+710&N=-1&isNodeId=1

7) Power on computer and complete upgrade.

8) You are done. Add additional kexts to /s/l/e if needed however I did not have to as all my added kexts where not removed by upgrade.

First thoughts, Personally I like El Capitan better on this HP z800.

Hi!

Has anyone noticed some issues with the AppleHDA.kext since latest update to OSX 10.12.2.

In my case it looks like keyboard buttons for managing the volume stopped working.

I can not turn up or down the volume and when I check the Audio settings it look like the audio output is wrong. It shows internal speaker but the sound comes out on line-out.

Anyone withe same issue?

Br / Z

Save yourself some trouble.

I have been able to get VoodooHDA.kext to work. However some have reported problems trying to get audio to work after sleep mode.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/voodoohda/

What I suggest is that you purchase one of the following

Sabrent audio device

https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-External-Adapter-Windows-AU-MMSA/dp/B00IRVQ0F8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483843751&sr=8-1&keywords=sabrent+audio+adapter

Behringer UCA202 Audio device for 7.2 audio support when connected to an AV receiver via toslink cable.

https://www.amazon.com/Behringer-UCA202-Audio-Interface/dp/B000KW2YEI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483843870&sr=8-1&keywords=behringer+uca202

Both of these work Vanilla with OS-X , MS-Windows, Linux.

Plug and Play, No additional drivers or kexts requirred.

Thanks corei3cpu!

I'll take a look at the "Sabrent audio device".

I also found out what the issue was... I was simply missing the Logitech Control Centre application.

The issue came up as I did a fresh install of 10.12.2 without thinking that I needed the above mentioned software.

Now I can adjust the volume with the keyboard volume buttons.

Yes, I found that the Logitech K750 keyboard for Mac or PC works best with a dual boot hack. OS-X / Win-10

All the special keys work. I use mine with a logitech M325 mouse.

Nice! I use K800...

Regarding dual boot Osx & Win10. I'm interested in getting this for may setup as well.

Does the dual boot work with the Sonnos Tempo SSD Pro card?

If Yes, do you mind sharing the setup procedure step by step?

Install the latest Clover boot loader.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/

Look at my boot drive EFI folder. Copy the Microsoft folder to your /EFI/clover/ on your boot drive.

Download my Install config and files I used for install below. Should work for HP z800, z600, z400. See Link

https://www.dropbox...._Files.zip?dl=0

Install BCD boot loader on your Microsoft installation.

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd744347(v=ws.10).aspx

# bcdboot C:\Windows

Look at my config.plist file in /EFI/clover folder

Look at the boot options. or just use my config.plist file.

I use Apple RTC, even I load a "Patched_10.12_AppleRTC.kext" in the kexts folder but no luck

Only happens sometimes after shutdown not sleep/wake cycle
