KristaffaH
Hi. I have OS X 10.10.3 running on an X99 hack. The system runs of an Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SSD. I also have a 5 TB WD Green HDD as media storage. In the past copying from the 5TB to 1TB have worked without a problem. Now whenever I copy from 5TB to 1TB the machine freezes during transfer. Sometimes at around 1GB completion, other times at 4-6 GB completion. Weird thing is copying from 1TB to 5TB works flawlessly. The freeze is the kind of freeze where music stops, cursor stops and only option is reboot. I have attached copies of the console during two separate freezes, hoping someone could decipher them for me maybe solving my issue. One time working in FCP during copy, the other playing music in iTunes during copy. Thanks to anyone taking time to help me out! Very much appreciated! -Kristoffer Console log 1.txt Console log 2.txt
Navaira
Do you have TRIM on? I heard TRIM doesn't work well on Samsung EVO drives...
KristaffaH
@Navaira No, no TRIM on after what I know. How can I check? I have a pretty straight forward Clover installation so I doubt it's "part of the package"
Navaira
It definitely isn't part of the package. You'd either have to use "sudo trimforce enable" or install TRIM Enabler or similar app. (Here's the article about TRIM problems: http://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/samsung-ssd-bug-wiping-data/ ) Unfortunately I don't know what else could cause your problem
KristaffaH
No then I don't have TRIM enabled. Anyway thanks!
