Hi All,

After initially giving up on my first try at a hackintosh laptop, Im giving it another go on my old dekstop. This time I've managed to complete the Yosemite installation and I believe most thing including internet is up and working. However, I still have no audio even after following the TonyMac86 guide here (ASUS P5Q - Mavericks Installation Success). My motherboard is an Intel Asus(Tek?) P5Q-Pro (LGA 775) and after browsing the web for a bit my understanding is that the right audio codec is an outdated ALC1200. I was not able to find this but some posts seemed to suggest that the ALC888 was also compatible. Using ##### Yosemite Edition I've tried all 4 of the ALC888 version (legacy+non-legacy) but nothing seems to be working. I'm still completely new to the Hackintosh world so if anyone could help me out solve this audio problem I would be very grateful.

Regards,

Hi, (post)installation method you used isn't supported on this forum. Please, read:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/275941-very-important-please-read-about-tonymacx86-and-iatkos-m/

You would have much better/cleaner and more vanilla install if you follow one of many guides from this site.

After that, you can just search this forum for any problems you ran into, for instance "Realtek ALC1200 Yosemite", and you'll fid the solution.

I'm still to find topic that didn't answer any questions i head on this forum.

Regards,

Ljuba
