I've been at it for days. I'm trying to run one of three different versions of After Effects that I have. I need the automatic rotoscoping tool. I have cs3 installed in my G4, but it lacks power and takes forever to do anything, so I decided I was gonna give Hackintosh another go...

No matter what I do I keep getting stuck at

root device uuid is 'FOFF65DB-575c-3402-9AFA-5E58E693B09E'

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

                                                                                                           _

I am running a crappy Toshiba Satellite C50 -B With a 64 bit Intel Celeron N2830 Chipset @ 2.16GHz 4GB of Ram, 500

 GB HDD

Motherboard is ZBWAA according to SMBIOS under options in Clover bootloader

I am booting in UEFI mode

I am trying to install OSX 10.10

I think I need to be using some hardware masks or something. I have seen on the  internet a few people who have this same machine running on Yosemite 10.10, but they never say how.

Can anyone help me?

VMWare is a no go, already tried, I get the "guest os has stopped the virtual cpu" or something like that.

Please help. I need to be able to run After Effects  CS5 so I can use Rotobrush. Please save me from the old 733mhz g4 and my 768 mb of ram! Does great in protools and final cut, but not so great in after effects.

After effects won't run in my windows install or I would just do that.

Maybe if someone send me in the direction of a perfect hardware mask list, or config.plist, or any help! :)

Thanks Ya'll

Its a wonder anyone accomplishes anything around here. I see lots of similar threads with the op putting no system specs or useful info at all, and people blow their threads up. I really need some help guys. After Effects is very important to me, and if I can't make this work my film company I'm trying to start will sink in the harbor. I really appreciate any help ya'll will give me

Try to boot using the bootflag RootUID=0x2000 or 0x3000 to see if it gets you ahead this error :) try to ask your questions on the chat there are usually many people out there who might assist you.

I still have the same problem...Whats interesting to me is that the IAtkos distro M3LU booting uefi clover gets me as far as almost done loading drivers before I get a freeze, this one happens right after root device is. My motherboard isn't very old. its from 2014. Intel Model # ZWBAA LA-B303P  Rev 1.0

. I gotta actually get it to boot...I have one running hackintosh I made just for bouncing files and what not, but its only got leopard, and no internet connection, or i would just go the no distro route with ##### and #####... :( I'm starting to really believe I need to just buy a new mac

If you can post the Image of the screen you are stuck up on then might to help you out even better :)

Also if you are already familier with Hackintosh setup routines then you might have noted that it requires a great deal of patience and tinkering with for everything to work out smoothly. Just keep trying and keep posting the error screen images so that someone out here would help you get it working eventually on your notebook.

Yea, I have hackintoshed 3 Laptops so far. They normally just work for me and it is rare that I have to do anything special to make one boot to the installer. My problems usually happen after install. I have a usb sound interface, sound and wifi are my 2 normal problems, but i just plug in the usb interface and the sound problem is done usually. Maybe I'll get this worked out.

New question that just hit me. I really like linux, and am very familiar with it. I have used, ubuntu and xubuntu and backtrack extrensively. How well does an osx virtual machine run inside of linux 64 bit? I've been using it on windows and it sucks.slower than my old g4

Special thanks goes to Niresh and the guy that made PLOP boot manager! Popped in my old Plop CD that  I forgot about having, Selected USB and There Yosemite Zone came up without typing any flags, Loads perfectly! This is on an HP G60. Still haven't figured out why it wont load on my toshiba, i get instant restart before it even gets to the bootloader with this distro, on the toshiba.

Only wierd thing with the G60 is that it wont load at all without the ethernet plugged in...Wait, I just realized something i can try with the toshiba!

Edit...I do not like Yosemite Zone....I reverted to Snow leopard and I have a fully functional hackintosh with after effects! Full graphics acceleration and airport working, and even have dual displays, umm...sound, usb...All is kosher! :)

if you have an hp g60 laptop...http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/248011-guide-snowleo-on-hp-g60-635dx/...

That guide is the ticket! You gotta boot with at least -v everytime, and -v -force64 -x if you want to get into 64bit mode...but otherwise I am happy!
