Hi all.

I am a complete beginner to Hacintosh stuff.

I have following : Optiplex 755 - 64 bit

Cpu : Intel E8400 Core2Duo

Graphics : AMD Radeon HD 6570 1GB DDR3

Ram : 4GB DDR2

Motherboard : Dell 0GM819

Bios : A22

Long story short, my girlfriend is about to have birthday in about 10 days.

We both have similar computers, only different thing she has is CPU is Dual Core and maybe motherboard is different, I have to check.

She always wanted a Mac and I would like to surprise her with Hackintosh, next best thing.

I have one empty 320 GB HDD that I would like to install this Hackintosh on.

I would first install it on my PC and then on hers.

I would like to install Snow Leopard.

I downloaded Snow_Leopard_10.6.1-10.6.2_SSE2_SSE3_Intel_AMD_by_Hazard.

I am going trough some guides, reading, figuring out what is what...googling...

Anyone willing to help me a little, maybe some pointers/tips, link me some good guide maybe, it will mean a world  :)

I will update on whats happening.

OK {censored}, I'm back, I really wanna install this hackintosh thing.

Can anyone help me here please, I have no idea what and where to start.

I have no idea what is that verbose mode and how to access it.

I originally wanted Snow Leopard because I thought I couldn't install anything better on this machine, can I Install anything newer ?

OK, I will try it, and I will let you know how it was.

Can you please tell me what is this Nawcom ModCD and what is this Chameleon ? What are bootflags ? Do I buy that Snow Leopard DVD or do I use torrent ?
I am really confused here, and all this info isn't available anywhere....as I said I am complete beginner, I am looking to get into this hackintosh stuff, so I am looking for some help :)

Nawcom ModCD = Is a modified bootloader for start OS X 10.6's DVDs.

ChameleonChameleon is an open-source EFI bootloader project for BIOS-based x86 systems. It is designed to replace Darwin and PC_EFI bootloaders with new features, such as GRUB and Windows Bootloader compatibility. Chameleon is often used as the bootloader for computers running OSX86. (Computers running OSx86 are often called "Hackintoshes".)

Credits for Chameleon = ErmaC

Always buy original Apple's Software. If you want download and use .torrents files, it is at your own risk.

Ah! read our Forum Rules about some things, like .torrents

I have this PC long time a go and I build OS X  installer for it !

PS: I am did not pass OS X 10.8.3  because the Graphics Driver change after 10.8.3

But its possible passing 10.8.3 I sold the PC after  :D   :P

For your ATI card your need ATI config on the boot plist and maybe some kext modifying ; not sure

good luck!

Guess what, you have almost the same graphics card as I have. (I have the 2gb version)
If everything goes alright your graphics card should work out of the box, it has been working out of the box for me from 10.6 all the way to 10.9, in 10.10 it required GraphicsEnabler=No.

Good luck!
