ok, i'm starting over.

I reinstall osx yosemite.

First thing to do: Power management, by default i have only two states, 12 and 24

- After installed clover and used the right config.plist, i've extract ACPI tables with clover (F4), generate my ssdt with ssdtprgen.sh. This, create a ssdt.dsl file, open it, and save as aml, put in patched folder (/Volumes/EFI/Clover), add dropoem true in config.plist, use right smbios (tried with macbook pro 9,1 - 9,2 - 10,1) and reboot. check p-states with dpcimanager and i've got only 1 state: 8. cpu run at minimum power.

specs cpu: intel i7 ivy bridge processor 3630qm

somebody help me please!

You should select the correct SMBIOS and reboot *prior* to running ssdtPRgen.sh script. If you look at the script, you'll see there are dependencies on SMBIOS.

yes, i've select smbios and reboot already and then generate ssdt. all the same. stuck at x8.0

Check your ioreg to see if X86PlatformPlugin is loaded. Check the SSDT to be sure the APSS/ACST/etc objects are declared in the correct scope (should be same scope as where your DSDT declares Processor objects, usually _PR). And check that you have the correct(vanilla) AppleACPIPlatform.kext installed with 'kextstat|grep -y acpiplat'. Yosemite is v3.1.

this is the output of command acpiplat : 13    2 0xffffff7f8227c000 0x65000    0x65000    com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform (3.1) <12 11 7 6 5 4 3 1>

checked x86platformplugin with ioreg, and it's loaded.

Is your board-id represented by a plist in X86PlatfromPlugin.kext/Contents/Resources?

Have you verified that NullCPUPowerManagement.kext is not loaded?

nullcpupowermanagement is not loaded (i don't have it, never used in this machine)

yes there is a plist and is id-board is the same in SMBIOS

Post ioreg with IORegistryExplorer v2.1.

here it is

From ioreg, power management is correct.

Keep in mind you won't use non-idle states without making the CPU work.

Use AppleIntelInfo.kext to test pstates. According to ioreg, it is not installed.

Make sure your BIOS settings allow speedstep and Intel HT.

Make sure you have current version of AppleIntelInfo.kext (I always build it from source).

Is this a fresh install, vanilla OS X from Mac App Store?

You have not posted the SSDT.aml you're using. I suspect it is wrong.

Try ssdtPRgen.sh with "-w 3" flag.

i think now it's working.. with dcpi manager i have lot of pstates.

i've posted ssdt.aml generated with -w 3 flag

and this is output from appleintelinfo.kext:

score from geekbench in 64 bit

3079 single core, 11397 in multi core

temperature of 95 °C for all cores, is it normal when i do a bench? OS X temperature are higher than windows? i never reach these temp in windows

idle temps are: 58-60 °C

Did you notice higher pstates during the benchmark execution?

What was your fan doing at the time? CPU temps are a function of CPU workload *and* cooling system activity. How does fan behavior differ between OS X and Windows?

Do you have a discrete graphics card? Did you disable it while running OS X? Your signature does not indicate any laptop hardware.

well, during bench, pstates go from 22 to 32 (22-24-26-27-28-29-30-31-32) but current state was always 32.

fan seems to run correctly, when cpu is not busy, it's quiet almost like in windows, but during bench i think fan was not at max speed. For temperature i think is a software problem, because temps jumped from 60 to over 90 in 2 seconds.

yes, i have a discrete card but i wasn't able to disable it yet.

my laptop is: Toshiba L50-A, I7 3630qm, 6 gb ram, Nvidia GT740M, (it's a full ivy bridge laptop)

Conclusion: PM is working.

That explains the higher temperatures.

so, with nvidia card disabled i can have temps lower by 20 °C?

I'm not able to predict the future.

now i really need help with disable nvidia graphics, i've tried everything!

Analyse your SSDTs. Find the SSDT that contains the _OFF method for the Nvidia. Find the associated _INI. Call _OFF from _INI.
