Samsung SM951 on an older board

I just bought an SM951 256GB PCIe SSD to replace my XP941. Previously, I had modded my bios to include the Samsung EFI module and I could boot from the XP941. No such luck with the SM951. However, the SM951 is write able in OS X. Anyone try this? Different EFI module needed in bios?

Hi. I have the SM951 256Gb AHCI version and the Lycom DT120 adapter on a PCIe slot of my old Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7. I can boot MAC OS X El Capitan from the SM951, the Bios doesn't see the M2 as a bootable drive but Clover does. All I had to do was clone my working system to the SM951 and then install Clover on another internal drive visible in the Bios. When Clover boots at startup screen it sees the SM951 with El Capitan, just press enter and the system boots fine. Hope this helps.

No Bios mods/hacks needed.
