To confirm you are in Ubuntu EFI Installation mode. Install Ubuntu by choosing the "Something Else" option Create your Ubuntu install partition in the free space area; leaving 4GB for the Swap area we'll create next Create your Ubuntu Swap area partiton in the remaining free space Choose your Mac EFI partition for the Ubuntu Boot Loader Install Ubuntu and reboot into BIOS Ubuntu 14.04.2 EFI Mode Installer will add a boot option to your BIOS called "Ubuntu" Now you can choose either OS, from the BIOS, when booting.
