sidegame Posted April 24, 2015 Share Posted April 24, 2015 Hi there, After successfully installing Yosemite on my hp I found that everything is working except the bulit-in wifi (Ralink RT5390R 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter) so, is there anyway to fix the wifi using dsdt patch or kext? anyhelp is much appreciated My notebook specs: HP ENVY dv6 Notebook PC CPU = Intel Core i7 3630QM Ivy Bridge Chipset = Intel Ivy bridge Rev = 09 Southbridge = Intel HM77 Rev = 04 Ram = 8GB HDD = 700GB Display Adapter =Intel® HD Graphics 4000 Graphic Card = 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M Wifi = Ralink RT5390R 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

See: [/size] %5BGuide%5D Airport - PCIe Half Mini v2 Unfortunatelly he may not be able to get a compatible one due to the fact that his laptop is an HP one (HP applies a BIOS-based type of DRM that locks the PC if the user installs an unauthorized wifi card. Some old pre-win8 laptops could be hacked to use any wifi card, but win8 ones use a newer uncrackable type of BIOS called UEFI) unless he is lucky enough that one of the cards in the link you provided matches one of the supported ones for the OP's laptop (is list of authorized cards is different on each model).
