Hi All,

I would like to open new topic in regards to Lenovo Thinkpad T430s

Spec:

Processor 3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3320M (3.30 GHz, 3MB L3, 1600MHz FSB)

Memory 16GB (DDR3)

Storage SSD: 180GB intel (will change for Crucial 256 GB in the future)

Display 14.0" HD+ (1600 x 900) (250 NITS)

Graphics: Intel HD4000

WIMAX/WIFI Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 AGN

Wireless WWAN Sierra Wireless MC7700 - Gobi 4000 for AT&T LTE and HSPA+

As for me that is perfect notebook for hack, but...

I faced with some issues:

  • I cannot boot to Yosemite installation (I will managing still how to do it)
  • WiFi - as we know Intel is not supported, but have bigger problem WHITELIST on BIOS. Does anyone know how to workraround this problem? Or may be there is other workaround for intel's wifi cards?

I would really appreceite for all you guys if you colud share your experince with me. I really got used to hack and yould like to continue wor on it.

Thanks,

YanekR

P.S I could say that still I am noob in this and prefer to talk with you as an experienced people  :)

I've used a modded BIOS to get around the whitelist in my Thinkpad (lower model than yours), tossed a secondary Apple Atheros into my free WAN mini-pci port. Works best when swapping around OSes.

If I could get version information about your currently installed BIOS, I'll try and help out my best sourcing one for you.

I haven't tried Yosemite yet (other than on my actual Mac), so I wouldn't know how to help you there. Even my Thinkpad had trouble trying to install Yose, so I went with Mavericks until I had time to try and sort it out. :P

Did a little bit of searching up, seems BIOs on the T430 can only be flashed via hardware flashing. Meaning a tear down and tools to reprogram the chip are needed.

I don't know if you have tried yet, but with the wireless card you're trying to install, tape over pin 20 and see if it causes the system to halt on boot or not. Works on some Lenovo models.
