VMWare Workstation 11.1 for Linux sound causes vcpu-0 unexpected signal 11 error

Hi N4m3r,

 

I had the same problem and I just solved it.

 

With the sound card disabled, run the Yosemite VM, go to Finder -> Applications -> Utilities - Audio Midi Setup.

 

Make sure all the output options have a 2ch-16bit Integer format. 24Bit crashes VMware workstation in Linux.

I'll be damned!  I gave up after looking (almost) everywhere.  Awesome find.  Unfortunately, I decided to run OSX via clover and Ubuntu in a VM.  But I miss some linux stuff, so I may go back.  Thank you for the update!
