Rybber
Hi I have an otherwise perfectly working hackintosh which I use for headless fileserver. But sometimes it's of the network (ethernet connected) for some reason, and I have to reboot to get it to reconnect. I have done some testing. It is connected with ethernet and DHCP with fixed ip of 10.0.1.5. When I pull the cable and reinsert it, system preferences says 'Ethernet:connected', but now DNs server field is blank and I can't reach it on the network. Any ideas to get this working? I'm tired of having to reboot it about once a day...
Allan
What is your Ethernet device? Do you try reinstall the kext?
Rybber
What is your Ethernet device? Do you try reinstall the kext? OMG, it worked! Thanks for stating the obvious ;-) Okay, so here's how to do it an case anyone suffers the same issue: 1. I'm using Realtek 8111F, so download this kext which works with multiple incarnations of the chip: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/88-realtekrtl8111-binary/ 2. Delete old Realtek kext from /S/L/E 3. Install with a kext installer app or manually 5. Reboot and enjoy Thanks again.
