kerouac
Hello everyone- I managed to get Yosemite installed on my Dell Inspiron 3487 following the Clover guide for the Dell XPS 8700, and everything works fine so far, except sleep. The display goes to sleep, but the hard drive (or some other noisy part of the computer) makes a loud movement sound (which, btw, i never hear when the computer is not in "sleep" mode). Aside from that, the display "wakes" as soon as I touch the mouse/keyboard (like normal). The other thing I noticed is that the mouse light never turns off when the computer goes to "sleep." Does anybody here have any idea what might be causing the noise, and how I might be able to fix it?
kerouac
I get this as wake reason: Wake reason: GLAN XHC Any ideas on how to fix this?
Yayiin
GLAN is your Ethernet or wifi, can be that you need a patched DSDT to work the sleep quit all app and try this command from terminal to see that prevent the sleep pmset -g assertions > ~/Desktop/sleep.txt

Yayiin
to me all is ok, only if you look in Hour and min, you can see assertions that prevent the sleep , the other problem can be the USB ports, need a patched DSDT to solve it. kerouac
No luck so far. I tried injecting the USB in clover, and even tried putting in the GenericUSBXHCI kext, but nothing really changed.
kerouac
Update: Fixed sleep by switching out the incompatible bluetooth/wifi mini-pcie card with a mac-compatible one! My guess is that the partially compatible bluetooth/wifi card was interacting with the OS somehow, and now allowing it to fully stay asleep. The OS recognized the bluetooth function of the card, but the wifi wasn't recognized. Now that I am using an airport card (or at least its functional equivalent), all things are running smoothly. You mean you replaced the built in wifi that came eith the board ?
