I have successfully installed OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 on my Thinkpad T61. Everything is running smoothly, no problems at all, but the internet. I have replaced the standard Intel network card and replaced it with a Broadcom 4311 card. The bluetooth is working, the ethernet is working, but sadly the wi-fi is not. Airport says no new wifi devices have been found. I have looked everywhere for info and kexts and nothing has worked so far. I don't know if it could be a problem but my old Intel network card had three connections (TR1, RO, TR2) and the Broadcom card only has two (a white arrow and a black arrow). Any help would be greatly appreciated, hopefully I don't have to go back to Windows

The card is not on Lenovo's whitelist and will not work (with any OS) until you flash your T61 with the Middleton BIOS.

I have this in my T61:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002OB0FPI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's a Broadcom 4322, which is identical to one of the Airport Extremes, but it needs to be "rebranded" in order to work 100%.

This means hand-editing the firmware, replacing vendor, sub vendor and device IDs with those used by Apple. Like this:

or this http://ryancuda.blogspot.com.br/2013/02/creating-real-airport-card.html

Find (google) and read a couple more of those guides before you start. Reading several different ones helped me a lot to understand the process better.

You can also make it work by editing drivers or injecting ids via DSDT. I just thought rebranding was a more elegant solution. Even though it's rebranded it still works perfectly fine in Windows 7 with Broadcom drivers. Well, I had to reinstall the drivers after rebranding, but it works.
