scriptz
Hello, Insanelymac I'm wondering if there is a driver for the GMA 3100 for yosemite or if there is a way to "enable it" with clover, My old hackintosh broke, so I'm stuck with a older motherboard and windows 8.1(sigh) Sorry if this is in the wrong category, can't seem to be able to post anywhere else. - Thanks Gigasea
Allan
This video card is not supported by OS X, you can get only fix resolution in Snow Leopard, but without QE/CI. Se this project here: http://www.hackintoshosx.com/topic/9403-intel-gma-x3100-kext/?p=45221
Gringo Vermelho
The information in that link is about the X3100. GMA 3100 and GMA X3100 are not the same thing! About the X3100, found in Santa Rosa platform laptops: The X3100 works natively (with a little help) up until 10.7.5 because it only had 32-bit drivers. Mountain Lion and up are 64-bit-only OS. It did have 64-bit support at one point but Apple dropped it, I think, in 10.6.2. From what I've read, the 64-bit drivers are buggy. They can be used on later versions of OS X with varying results. I don't know anything about the non-x GMA 3100 except that it's inferior to the X3100 and only used on desktop boards.
