Op15L
The sound work but is distort and low. I have try to tuning the level in VoodooHDA setting but with poor result. It work only if I append "kext-dev-mode=1" to argument Yosemite 10.10.1 AMD FX 8320 ASROCK 970 EXTREME3 R2.0 8G RAM GEFORCE 210 ALC892 Audio Any idea? atlee
I just purchased FX 8350, Asrock 970-Extreme3 R2, my Gigabyte died in the ass and sold my processor, I'm going to take it for a run. Don't use VoodooHDA as it's always poor. Go get yourself a patched AppleHDA for Yosemite for the ALC892 chipset or it's quite easy to patch one up for yourself if you read into it. A good start would be: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298663-applehda-for-yosemite/
ameris_cyning
Until someone figures out how to get rid of the NPCI flag for Yos a patched AppleHDA is not possible VoodooHDA doesnt work well on AMD hacks. A patched AppleHDA is our best hope for a good audio experience.

WellCze
I thought the same as you, because the VoodooHDA cause crackling noises.. I found out that it was not voodoo problem, but cpu. So be sure that your frequency matches the one written in about this mac. And make sure!!!! that you disabled coolnquiet and all the other stuff affecting cpu in biost. That is the thing causing crackling. Im using voodoohda on amd and sound is great. Google LC892 - ALC887 - Voodoo.kext optimized for Yosemite and do exactly! the same steps as suggested on that page
