Hi all,

I'm finally up and running I'd say 90% where I want to be, and I've solved the big issues, but I'd like some help to perfect the build, and I need some more talented members of the community to let me know if I need to change anything in my config to optimize.

First, the build.

GA-z97x-UD5H

4690K

GTX 970 (ASUS STRIX)

8GB Corsair Vengeance

256GB MX100 SSD (Windows 8.1)

2TB Internals (x3) - Yosemite is on one of these.

4TB External Seagate (usb3)

2TB External Seagate (usb3)

Corsair K95 RGB (usb3) / K65 RGB (2.0) KB/Mouse

Wifi card - Rosewill, recognized natively

My bios settings are basically what everyone suggests - optimized defaults, profile 1, xhc auto, handoffs both enabled, vt-d disabled, wol disabled, intel graphics disabled.

Installed using a few tutorials.. my 10.10 folder had AppleIntelE1000e, FakeSMC to start. Using clover.

The major issues I encountered were the graphics and sound.

Graphics was fixed by using nv_disable=1 and GraphicsEnabler=No on boot, installing the web driver, and then using only nvda_drv=1. Easy!

Sound was fixed by the ALC1150 kext/script that is available. Now the 10.10 folder added realtekALC.kext.

I then ran into serious issues with sleep. It'd go to sleep, and then instantly wake, leaving running fans and a black screen. If you moved the mouse, it'd get you back to the desktop, but it was clear sleep was not working. Console showed wake reason was XHC.

I fixed this by adding yet another kext, GenericUSBXHCI - the latest version from RehabMan.

Then in clover, I had to tick USB Inject, and AddClockID. And then gux_defer_usb2. This solved sleep, but due to AddClockID, you can't wake it from your mouse/kb, you need to use the power button.

At this point I'm pretty happy. I can boot, sound/video works, sleep kinda works, and my usb drives all work.

There are some minor annoyances I'd like to see if you guys can  help me with.

First off, sleep. Is there a better way to fix that?

Second, speedstep. I'm showing states 8, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39. But during my initial testing, I somehow got access to all the states in between. Somewhere between that and fixing everything else, I lost it. How do I get that back? I'm not using a DSDT or SSDT.

Can you take a look at my config.plist and offer any suggestions? Thanks!
