heroics
Hi, I am relatively new to the OS X visualization scene but I have managed to get OS X Yosemite 10.10 running on Vmware workstation 11. Everything works nicely, even the responsiveness is good for an emulated OS. The problem I am having is with the sound on OS X. There is none. I have tried the many different solutions posted here on the forum as well as other places but cannot seems to get the sound to work. I changed the vmx file from sound.virtualDev = "hdaudio" to sound.virtualDev = "es1371". Nope. I also tried commenting it out all together but that didn't help either. Any suggestions from the informed? Thanks in advance Got it to work but the "fix" was simple in the end. In the vmx file, I changed sound.fileName = "-1" to sound.fileName = "Speakers / HP (IDT High Definition Audio Codec)" which is the full name as in Windows 7. If you change it in the Vmware GUI, the entry in the vmx looks like this, sound.fileName = "Speakers / HP (IDT High Definition" I also changed the default format of the sound setting in windows from 24bit, 192000 hz to 24bit, 441000 hz. Hope that helps anyone Edited February 8, 2015 by heroics
jaimea
Hi, thanks, it helped. However, I finally managed to have it working with the default "Auto detect" setting in vmware. Best regards,
