Dell Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1, Model# 7347 - Is this hardware possible?

I was successful in emulating mavericks on VMware but would like to make use of the systems full hardware capabilities. Goal would be to run Xcode, Swift and related apps w/o issues with decent performance on Mavericks or Yosemite.

I have the i3 4030u which should not be an issue, but do worry about a dell motherboard. (or whatever it is)

Here is my CPU-Z info: http://valid.x86.fr/j1a9nz

You will never know untill you try. But am sure that you will not have wifi unless you swap your wifi card or use a usb wifi adaptor.

Audio you can get with patched applehda or voodoohda. Card reader is almost impossible on dell.

Just try and see the result and start working out the problem with kexts and dsdt patches.

Hello I too have the same laptop, but with i5 version, for THE INSTALLATION I used the method "Yosemite with clover efi" are driving with google, while for the kekt startup just put those necessary, I itilizzato driving "Yosemite of hp ".

As for the graphics just edit the SSDT, ....

It Works:

Graphics, brightness (using SSDT)

Usb seems ok

processor ok

battery ok

sleep test ....

sd ok

webcam ok

It does not work:

wifi

audio

after sleep usb

keys to change brightness

Excuse my English but I have translated with google .... I'm Italian!

I think that I'm first person who tryed to set up yosemite on this laptop ;)

So:

Graphics OK

Brightness control OK

Brightness control after sleep OK

Battery OK

USB OK

USB after sleep OK

Webcam OK

Audio with Vodoo HDA OK but some kind of reverb, sound works after sleep. Autoswitch to headphones work.

Audio with AppleHDA OK but some kind of reverb, sound doesn't works after sleep. Autoswitch to headphones work.

fn+F11, fn+F12 to change brightness OK

Issues:

1)Doesn't wake up from sleep sometimes

2)Yosemite doesn't start in 50% of tryes. I get apple on black screen and nothing else.

When I press power button it disables instantly like I was in the BIOS.

When I use -v flag then I get message UUID is.... and nothing else after that.

System log doesn't give me any information on that accidents.

How are you guys with this problem?

Hello finally a user with the same laptop ....

Then for the start I do not have this problem, it had at the beginning but after having placed the SSDT-7, dsdt and applied the patch of clover in the config now always goes.

summary:

graphic ok (id 0x0a260006 + patch)

usb ok (to face after waking hangs)

webcam ok

luminosity ok

Brightness fn key no !!!

wifi usb d-link (but I ordered the Bradcom that will come soon)

Audio ok with AppleHDA also popo awakening .... with antitop

Battery ok ....

If you want I send you my dsdt-SSDT and the config of clover!

While you how you solved the keyboard to control the brightness by FN F11-F12?

Hello, thanks for efi anyway or terminated for FN I modified DSDT and now works, as regards the black screen at startup, I'll explain:

1) using the SSDT-7 and inserting graphics as id --- 0x0a260006 = 0x06, 0x00, 0x26, 0x0a + patch in clover:

<dict>

<key> Name </ key>

<string> AppleIntelFramebufferAzul </ string>

<key> Comment </ key>

<string> 0x0a260006 9MB cursor bytes patch </ string>

<key> Find </ key>

<string> 0600260a01030303000000020000300100006000 </ string>

<key> Replace </ key>

<string> 0600260a01030303000000020000300100009000 </ string>

</ dict>

Start after sleep ok sometimes black screen at startup.

2) using the SSDT-7 and inserting graphics --- 0x0a26000a as id = 0x0a, 0x00, 0x26, 0x0a no patch

Start after no sleep (at the time) black screen no boot

Now I'm trying to solve for audio using AppleHDA,

Audio from pc ok, by no headphones, no hdmi ....

As I get home I'll send you the link of my efi ...

What is the Yosemite version do you use now?

10.10.1. or 10.10.2?

I used only 1 clover patch in ig-platform-id section of clover configurator when I was on 10.10.1.

But now I'm forced to use FakePCIID_HD4600_HD4400.kext + FakePCIID.kext + SSDT Fix solution because I'm using 10.10.2 now.

Hello sorry if I answer now, but I was out of the area!

How utlizzo the version 10.10.2

For graphics currently the best solution I use is to change the SSDT-7 using as ig-platform 0x0a26000a, for the FULL QE / CI I used this guide:

I also replaced the wifi card with this:

Perfect, just ulizzare the kext + update BT (or used vietnam tools) and recognized perfectly!

I remain to settle the problem of the awakening of the monitor (monitor off) while the sleep complete works perfectly;

Audio to HDMI

You've solved with audio?

I am running Mac OS X 10.10.3 (Yosemite) on my Dell Inspiron 2 in 1, installed on a 64 GB SD Card, using Clover. I have just followed the instructions posted here. Most of times everything runs ok! I´ve bought Linksys 6000 Wifi dongle. Sound works good from the speakers with VoodooHDA.

Video running with full acceleration and I am able to share my screen through HDMI or Airplay.

No mic. Touchscreen ok, keyboard and touchpad ok with PS/2 kexts.

Now I have two alternatives, because I did not touch the original hard drive, I can run Yosemite on VMware and native on my machine.

Facetime, iMessages and App Store functioning.

Does the your sleep works after sleep?  What dsdt patch did you use for usb 3.0 to wake up from sleep?  I used genericusbxchi.kext with -gux_defer_usb2 for kernel flag.  It sleeps when computer is on battery but instantly wake when AC is plugged.   I am using chameleon and not clover.  Can you sent your DSDT and SSDT?  Thanks.

I even gave my MacBook air to my sun, running everything exclusively from my 2 in 1!

Sometimes it wakes up ok, others not... At random... When I get a black screen I can get it back just pressing the power button... I can upload my EFI partition, but I don´t think I did anything different!

jnrfst:

What graphics do you have? HD4400, or HD5500? Figure out the CPU, then the graphics, then google a guide to enable it.

Does anyone have the battery icon working via SSDT (or DSDT)? I have the newer model with the HD5500, but figure all that should still be the same. (I haven't really googled, sorry! ;p)

Also, often when I reboot I seem to get a CMOS reset (goes to HDD detect, generic hardware troubleshooting, loud beep). I patched RTC in DSDT, what else might prevent that?

If anyone is still trying to get HDMI audio to work, it looks like a FakePCIID to change the HDMI ID to one that is supported would work. Saw it on he who shall not be named's site from Nguyenmac, but he also posts over here. Have not tried it yet as HDMI is rather far down on my list.
