Allan
Create a Penboot for Macs, and reinstall the system. If you want use Yosemite, read this: How to create a Bootable Yosemite install - Updated. When you told me about the "password" maybe is about FileVault, if yes, you need call for Apple Support and report.

Gringo Vermelho
You can't really do anything meaningful if you don't have the password. You have three options: Remember the password (duh) Try to find some sort of password recovery software (if such a thing exists) OS X is free since Mountain Lion - reinstall the OS.

styrian
@ seagate1 Hello! It is not necessary to reinstall OSX, if you don´t know the admin pw of a Mac anymore. Google with aruments " mac admin password reset (without disc) " to find a guide or vid, how to do it. Have fun.

styrian
@ seagate1 Hello! Which version of OSX is installed? Do you have a recovery partition on the device? To reset the admin pw is a not so hard to do job. I have done it myself, after buying an used MBP running 10.8.5. Have fun.
