I just want to share some of my progress with installing OSX on a Acer Aspire One D250.

I don't want to break any rules by talking about certain things so I will just say I installed Snow Leopard 10.6.3

There were a lot of tutorials available online but this kid here on YOUTUBE, his was definitely the most straight forward and simple to understand (in my opinion) even much better than a more detailed tutorial that I actually used to finally get WiFi working.

Here is the YOUTUBE Link:

I followed his little tutorial and successfully installed Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on my acer aspire one d250.

everything seemed to be working except my WEBCAM and WIFI

I was able to fix WiFi by following the tutorial on the following webpage:

http://computersoftwareisyourfriend.blogspot.com/2011/07/snow-leopard-on-acer-aspire-one-part-5.html

Was very helpful as far as getting the WiFi to work. He provided information on installation but I felt the youtube video from the kid offered a much more detailed tutorial that actually worked for me but I definitely read all of the tutorials just to gain more knowledge (trial and error) even if it wasn't exactly helpful.

My problem with WiFi is I managed to get it working but now I have a problem connecting to the internet because of a self IP issue with airport. If anyone knows a fix for the self IP issue? please share.

I was going crazy trying dual boot OSX and LINUX... my problem was I was trying to use Lubuntu and Grub was causing a problem with OSX/bootloader. nothing I did seemed to work and I tried every solution I found... I ended up ditching Lubuntu and just used the latest version of Ubuntu which worked perfectly.. I was able to dual boot into OSX and Linux from Chameleon.

While I didn't exactly follow this next tutorial step by step... it provides the information needed to make your own conclusions as to what will work best for you.

This next link is to some basic COMMAND LINE stuff that I definitely needed to know (I just wasn't familiar at all with using OSX terminal) something as simple as copying files/folders from a USB drive to the OSX/HDD was driving me crazy. *When I updated from Snow Leopard 10.6.3. to 10.6.5. using the updateCombo, I made the mistake of backing my KEXT up to the USB drive.. great idea but one of the things I lost in the update was access to the USB ports. Anyway, being able to access the terminal via the OSX Installation disk helped me copy the files from USB to the HDD.. but without knowing these basic terminal commands I would have been lost.

(just basic stuff you should know especially if you've never dealt with command line in OSX)

I updated to OSX 10.6.5 by using the tutorial on the following webpage

http://razorstechden.blogspot.com/2011/07/hackintosh-on-netbook-acer-aspire-one.html

(this is where I made the mistake of backing up the KEXT to the USB... a simple mistake that caused a short headache)

The one thing I can't seem to get going is getting my screen resolution higher.. I'm stuck at 800 X 600 (I believe 1024X600 is the highest for the Aspire One D250) if anyone has been able to get their resolution higher than 800 X 600, please share the links or information. (*I've followed a few tutorials but none have worked for me so far)

**I just wanted to provide this information for anyone that is considering installing OSX86 on the Aspire One D250, this information has definitely worked for me and perhaps it will be helpful for someone else.
