Hi

I just want to inform you that a new version of Alien vs. Predator was released for Linux and Mac OS X:

The changelog is not available, but I want to indicate that a new version of this game has the experimental support for SDL 2, and the author used cmake to change the compilation process. Additionally, you can compile this game on Linux x86_64.

This is an unofficial version of this game, and I want to point out that many features are still missing e.g. music, movies, multiplayer etc.

However, this is a first version of the AvP that has a native version for Mac OS X (intel), so you don't have to use an old PPC computer/Rosetta to run this game.

Did you notice any other changes?

Hi

AnonymousHoser published a new version of Aliens vs Predator, and I think that experimental support for AvP Classic Redux is the most interesting feature in this version of AvP:

"Some work was done on the SDL2 support, namely the full screen support. There's still a lot more work required before it is stable though. Once that happens I plan on removing the SDL 1.2 support.

The OpenGL code has been changed to be compatible with OpenGL ES 1.0. The next release will require OpenGL 2.1 or OpenGL ES 2.0.

AvP Classic Redux was briefly tested. One possible crash was fixed -- the original game was never intended to use such large assets, but there are likely other crashes out there."
