I successfully installed Yosemite 10.10 on ESXi 5.1. i'm trying to passthrough GPU. I'm having Radeon HD 7770. In ESXi under configuration and advance setting.. It is showing gradeout and says host doesnot support pass through configurtion.

I enabled the Virtualization and VT for Direct I/0 in PC BIOS but still in ESXi passthrough is gradeout.  Pls someone put light on the issue.
Note: Intel tool tested for Virtualization and VT is positive.

There was a known issue with ESXi 5.1 and VT-d. I suggest you try ESXi 5.5 U2. Also you have a Dell machine, can you give us the actual model please? Finally VT-d passthu is very tricky to get working and many devices simply do not work.

Donk,

I even tried on ESXi 5.5 U2. I'm trying to install on Dell Optiplex 7010. BIOS ver A19.  CPU: Intel i5-3570  Lvy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4 Ghz Socket Support FCLGA1155.

Any alternatives then Pls let us know

Thanks

HI, i encourage you to continue trying. i dont want to discourage you

As you said cpu compatible , chipset compatible. technically.

But i think its Dell fault for not implementing it correctly in their bios.

many peoples had the same problem whit asus awhile ago.

Personally i used asrock and it always been available....

I had to put pci gpu first and disable audio and other trick to make it work

I think its your board

maybe post a picture of you bios
