Qweedle Guy
I created a bootable Lion USB drive using myHack from this guide: http://www.macbreaker.com/2013/07/a-look-at-amd-hackintoshing-mac-os-x.html The only steps I really followed were to replace the kernel in the myHack USB drive. I booted straight from the USB and installed Lion successfully with full functionality. I want to upgrade to 10.7.5 with the combo update but am afraid I'll break my install since Lion and newer are 64-bit operating systems and I'm running a 32-bit Core2Duo. Is it safe to install the update? I'm not sure which kexts I'd have to reinstall using #####. I'm just afraid to update because everything is running perfectly but I've run into a few problems with applications and features because I'm not on 10.7.5. I'd prefer to even upgrade to Mountain Lion or Mavericks if the same process would work, but I haven't found any evidence online confirming it would. My specs - Motherboard: ASUS P5W DH Deluxe CPU: 3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo RAM: 2GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM GFX: nVidia Geforce 8500 GT 512 MB WiFi: ASUS USB-N13
aliab
You can update until Yosemite with this board ! a good practice is to test on another new install and partition
Qweedle Guy
Thanks I didn't realize that! I upgraded to Mavericks. I'm not really feeling Yosemite, I really don't like the interface at all. But Mavericks is great! I just hope we can figure out a way to get iCloud and iMessage to work! Qweedle Guy
Has anybody had any success in getting the onboard WiFi card to work under Mavericks? It worked fine with Snow Leopard but it doesn't seem the same drivers work.
