Greetings Insanelymac Community

I've just installed Yosemite 10.10 on my PC

GTX 970

Intel I7 3770K 3.5 GHz

But i noticed that my Boot-Screen resolution is not my native screen resolution (1920 x 1080)

So i went in to the Chameleon Program that came with my installation (The GUI that gives you multiple choices to edit the BootLoader) and in there i ticked the box for 1920 x 1080 boot logo.

But still i got no change.

Could anyone please tell me how to sort this issue out?

Thank you so much.

There is no fix for that. On older nvidia cards there was a way to edit the video BIOS, adding VESA modes to it and reflashing it but as far as I know nobody has figured out how to do that on newer cards. It's been a long time and don't remember the details.

The weird thing is that my 660 GTX clearly exposes 1920x1080 during boot, because it's right there in the video pull up menu in the Chameleon GUI. It just doesn't work for some reason. I've tried DVI and DP, same difference. It does go full screen on my 1280x1024 display though.

Notice how your POST and BIOS screens are not 1920x1080 either. Even with GraphicsMode=1920x1080 set in org.chameleon.Boot.plist, Chameleon will display its GUI in the same resolution as your BIOS and POST screens. At least that's what it looks like to me.

You can use a theme with a black background image to make this issue less apparent.

Alternatively, you may try the Clover boot loader. You can install it to a flash drive and leave Chameleon as it is if you just want to experiment.

The boot screen is not very important issue, the log in and used if it is native display resolution is what need to be concern.

One of my machine, GA X58A UD3, had to boot in verbose mode, why? Because regular boot got shutdown problem at fan keep running for a while, and also boot screen is not in full screen mode (clover bootloader). When the log in scrren show up, everything is ok to run
