i7 5820k

MSI x99s SLI PLUS mobo

- USB Flash Drive 8gb+

- An known working nvida graphic card.

- a working computer running mac os x.

2) Be sure you select "Install for UEFI booting only" while installation.

Post-installation

Set your SMBIOS to Mac pro 4,1

Install Nvidia Webdriver

Reboot your system and make sure everything works.

You should set your SMBios to Mac Pro 6,1. You don't need a temporary card, as nv_disable=1 in config.plist will bypass Nvidia' QE issue ( you will see lag but it is bootable, so you can install the web driver later ). After installing the web driver, remove nv_disable=1 and replace it with nvda_drv=1, you should have your GPU fully working. For audio, you can use toleda's script to patch AppleHDA, but keep in mind that you will have to patch AppleHDAController to get 9 series mobo's audio to work ( you can use Clover's kext to patch to do the dirty work, I believed the green port doesn't work )

Thanks vusun123,

But those were the first things I had tried on this build and they just don't work for some reason.

Mac Pro 6,1 won't let me pass the graphic driver installation.

nv_disable=1 let the prompt freeze.

patched AppleHDA gives me background noise.

Sure, if you have exactly the same build and got it work, I will be so glad to know cuz I don't have to physically replace my GC again. Still appreciated.

I don't have the exact same build, just similar in terms of problematic ( H97-D3H and AMD Radeon R9-280X ). Also I have helped others who use Maxwell Nvidia GPU, so everything I said is based on what I experienced so far. What port are you plugging your speaker to ? I plugged in the black port and change output in the syspref, no weird noise with ALC1150 here

Hello!

Finally after SOME DAYS, I got working Yosemite with this tutorial.

With CPU (i7 5820K) at 3300Mhz, Yosemite is like 6x real time. A minute is 10 seconds. I had to underclock to 2500Mhz to get like real time.

I wanted to use "Clover Configuration" to set CPU things, but I don't know what to put there!.

Do you know something? (5820K).

Thanks!!

Hi I am sorry to quote you I have this same exact system. What video card are you using to get to the mac installer?. I have a GTX 980 ti and they do not work. I am all ears Ive spent literally almost 11 hours trying different boot arguments and still get stuck with the OsxAptioFixDrv: starting overrides for IAbootfiles\boot.efi Using reloc block: no, hibernate wake: no then ++++++++++++++++++++++++++ . this is with sierra not yosemite but i believe this issue applies to all.
