Just as a laugh, I tried installing Mavericks on this motherboard found on the dump. Sure enough, with the included Pentium HT installed (2.6GHz), and with an NVIDIA Quadro 370 FX, and 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM, the computer is running very well indeed. So well in fact, that sleep/wake is working OOTB without any additions. No BIOS mod necessary. I have speedstep working with only 2 power states, and this Pentium does not have turbo-mode. Same success/drivers as my MSI P67A-GD55(B3) -- also on this mavericks thread.

RAM - working

CPU - working

Sleep/Wake - working (hibernate not tested, but should work).

USB 2.0 - working

USB 3.0 - working

LAN - working

ALC892 - working

QuadroFX 370 - working with GE=Yes

Integrated Graphics - unsupported chipset currently. With correct CPU, will work with DVI out only.

All hardware working across sleep/wake. No graphics power management that I can see (GPU fan seems to be running 100% at all times).

This is more compatible than my MSI board (sleep does not work correctly), but only 2 RAM slots, so may not swap... everything else is the same (USB3/OpticalAudio etc etc). This also has integrated graphics output (VGA/DVI) ports so can use Intel HD 3000 in a pinch with new processor. Existing Pentium CPU has the unsupported graphics 2000/2500 or whatever (no QE/CI).

I like this motherboard, as you can turn all the startup hardware guff off, and be at the Apple logo in about 1-2 seconds (not 12-15sec like the MSI board).

I have a bead on a Core-i7 2600. so will update this info if I receive it.

I may have spoken too soon. I have had sound cutout issues over sleep (this may be a jack autosensing issue, which is fixable with a DSDT patch).

I also have occasional freeze on shutdown/restart. I cannot remember if I am using EvoReboot kext or not. I will need to research this some more.

CPU speed really sucks compared to the new Pentium dual-cores. I am only getting 33% benchmark scores of the Core i5 2500.

PS. I got a second DVI monitor, so successfully tested dual-monitors (mirroring and extended desktop) yesterday. No icon in menubar, but all seems to be working sweetly.

I have switched to a GT 230 NVIDIA card (benchmark 478) to replace the Quadro FX 370 (benchmark 93), and the 3D game performance has improved significantly (1.5GB vRAM).

I have also switched to 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM, in preparation for the big CPU swap coming up.

I got a Core i7 2600k online, which will go in my main machine. The existing Core i5 2500 will go on this board.

All I need now is a decent case/psu and graphics card, for another kickass hackintosh!

PS. Cannot get analog ports working on sound card, only digital out seems to work, and even that drops out occasionally. I will look into an alternative method to get this working.

I still see the owner of this PC occasionally, and she has used Macs up to this point. She may be convinced to let me reinstall OSX alongside Win7 at some future point, and I will update this post then. She has 8GB DDR3 RAM, Intel Core-i5 2500 3.3GHz-3.7GHz, 256GB SSD (Samsung 840 Pro), + 500GB HDD, GeForce 730 (or some new model with no power and lots of vRAM). ~$100 graphics card.
