dannymichel
Hi all. I have a GA-Z77X-UD5H and no sound. I'm using Clover. I havent been able to find a guide to make it work. Can anyone help? [Edit] Fixed: Wow, I can't believe how easy it was to fix it with http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/324-voodoohda/ . Was a double click install. May I ask why people use Toleda's very involved guides for my board when this fix exists?
Nemorosus
Does every jack work? Output, microphone, etc.?
dannymichel
Does every jack work? Output, microphone, etc.? No, and I'm just realizing that's why most dont use this. Microphone and everything else works, but I can't create an aggregate audio device because only the green out works.
nate911
This doesn't work for me. Refuses to boot when VoodooHDA is installed. Are you using clover?
jabbaranks
Hey guys you can use CloverALC for audio located here.. https://github.com/toleda/audio_CloverALC 1. Download the zip 2. Extract zip 3. Make sure you have the ORIGINAL AppleHDA.kext 4. Mount EFI folder 5. Extract audio_cloverALC-100.command.zip 6. Double click audio_cloverALC-100-v1.0.2.command 7. Enter password in terminal and follow instructions 8. Reboot when done All sound should work including microphone
Mirone
May I ask why people use Toleda's very involved guides for my board when this fix exists? AppleHDA, has a much better sound than VoodooHDA, perhaps this is the reason.
jabbaranks
With this solution audio stays after updates because there no changes to original AppleHDA.kext. All Changes are made to EFI kext folder
dannymichel
I installed combo update to get the original applehda and it allowed me to run the script, but not I'm in a never ending boot loop. I can boot -f -v doesn't give me any errors at all. just goes as if it's going to boot then restarts.
