Updated ok here.

Just need the updated nVidia Web Drivers seeing as Apple are hell-bent on not fixing the OpenCL bug in the stock drivers.

Hey -

Just head on over to this thread:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/301416-nvidia-web-driver-updates-for-yosemite/

the latest nVidia beta drivers work with this release with a slight touch of modification.

Nothing about less RAM footprint ? ... I have 4 GB memory and I only left with 31% free after boot.

Nothing to worry about. OSX manages RAM very intelligently. The more you have, the more it'll use for caching stuff. I have 8GB and Yosemite sometimes manages to use them all, but I don't experience any slowdowns or crashes.

WARNING! I just spent a few hours trying to figure out why my install was bootlooping after installing 10.10.1--thinking it was a graphics problem. If you're using Pike's method of symlinking AppleHDA with, for example, AppleHDA898.kext, this will cause bootlooping. I've never had an issue with it in the past. My GTX 780 didn't cooperate well with safe mode, so had to go in to single user mode to delete the kext. I found all this out after accidentally screwing up restoring my IOKit framework backup (I recently bin patched it) until the repeated bootloops caused data corruption on my SSD, and.. well it was a long story that snowballed out of control. Hours later I am back 100%. Hopefully this information can save some of you a huge headache.

Cheers.
