Kernelpanic at boot after Chameleon Installation - what now? :o

Hi there,

I freshly installed Mavericks 10.9.5 and that worked so far, had to use "GraphicsEnabler=Yes -x -v" for booting, but still :)

I installed Mutlibeast (ONLY for the sound, Network already works) and Chameleon, latest release.

Now when booting, I get a Kernelpanic, here's what I get after booting (bootflags can be seen in the screenshot, "nvda_drv=1" was already inside the .plist): http://i.imgur.com/FbDR44x.jpg

Here's my hardware: Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H, GeForce Quadro FX 4800 for Mac, 32GB DDR3, Intel Core i7 2600

Has anybody an idea what I could do about this?

Actually, using my Install-Stick I can still boot boot when using "GraphicsEnabler=Yes -x -v". However, when I drop the "-x", I get this message: http://i.imgur.com/RK6P861.jpg

Any ideas? Do I miss something super easy again? :(

Seems AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement is causing KP.

To fix it,

Download Nullcpupowermanagement.kext and copy it to /Extra/Extensions/

Or maybe it is on your USB Stick.

/YourUSB/Extra/Extensions/Nullcpupowermanagement.kext

(Two facts:You uploaded two pictures, but those two pictures are same KP / you can't write about tonymacx86 things such as UniXXXXX,MultiXXXXX, that's against the rules of InsanelyMac)

Hi there muang,

I downloaded the .kext from Insanelymac now - sorry, I didn't know how bad TM is for the community, I had no idea. I will act accordingly now :)

I didn't noticed both KP are the same, haha :)

After I installed the .kext I can boot with Chameleon now, using "GraphicsEnabler=Yes -x -v". I still can't drop -x, else I get (the very same) Kernelpanic.

Any ideas how I can properly boot without -x? I have some strange graphic-issues (like, "stuttering" when in browser scrolling). I think the nVidia Driver isn't loaded when using -x

Did you install Nullcpupowermanagement.kext to /Extra/Extensions/? not to /S/L/E.

and AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext is doing that again?

how about downloading Patched AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext and copy to /S/L/E?

And I don't know your installtion method.

but if you can, Install through myHack method. that installs Essential Kexts and removes Kexts Causes KP for Hackintosh.

(If you use myHack, myHack installs Chameleon During Installtion. and myHack does not contain LAN Kext, so you will have to search for your LAN Kext and Store it to USB Flash Drive. Also Sound kext, but after LAN works, you can find it on your hackintosh. :) )

Hi there muang,

I used the ostracized method

I copied the Nullcpupowermanagement.kext to /Extra/Extensions, /Extensions had to be made as it wasn't already there. I will try AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext in /S/L/E :)

myHack sounds good, I can try that (I have no hard feelings to install it again). Regarding LAN, I actually had LAN after installing in my (kext-less) Mavericks from the start, no idea why it worked right away. Even if it doesn't work, I have a MacBook to supply flashdrives. I will try it this evening :)

Yeah try it myHack is good for beginners.

and i know why your LAN Worked,

because Your USB-Installer had LAN kext in /Extra/Extensions.

but myHack does not contain that. so you will need to Copy LAN kext from anywhere to your flash drive.

(I think i know your original install method  :D )

Hi there muang,

I'm installing myHack on a USB drive right now. I hope I have not much else to look after except the "Create OS X Installer", so I'll just run it in a minute... :) Hopefully that will work out.

Btw, I couldn't really find a patched AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext on this site, do I have to create that on my own?

So, I used MyHack for the install now, and it worked out. Somehow Chameleon wasn't installed with it, at least I couldn't boot from the SSD, so I installed it manually - now it works!

Network is installed too, Sound should be as well (not tested yet).

I still have to use "GraphicsEnabler=Yes -x -v"; if I drop -x, I can't boot again: http://i.imgur.com/S01ncUl.jpg

Has it still to do with the AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement.kext?

Check FakeSMC If it's in /Extra/Extensions

That is not caused by AICPM.kext.

Also disable VT-d in BIOS. that worked for me.

Also this is Quadro FX 4800 for mac's driver download link. (click Drivers & Downloads tab there)

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_quadro_fx_4800_for_mac_us.html

it doesnt support MacPro 1,1 / 2,1

So CHECK YOUR SMBIOS BEFORE INSTALL

Hey there,

I'm at home in an hour or so and will check for fakeSMC and the VT-d (should be disabled though).

I installed the GPU drivers before I did the MyHack install, forgot to reinstall them now. Will do when I'm at home!

I read a bit about the SMBIOS now, not sure how my HackPro is installed right now; I searched a bit for "similar" Macs online, however there are only Macbook Pros that have a CPU that is nearly like mine. I read Mac Pro3,1 is a "good" one to use as it's pretty compatible, should I go with that? Last time I changed this I couldn't get the machine to run again, haha

Hi there,

so I checked for it and the FakeSMC is installed already: http://i.imgur.com/iTTtSbt.png

VT-d is disabled in BIOS, as I remembered

I went ahead and created a smbios.plist as I didn't had one (it was iMac from 2001 by default anyway). So I chose Mac Pro 3,1 and left everything at default (Chameleon Wizard 4.4.1), then I installed the latest nVidia drivers and restarted right away. However, I still can't boot without -x, I still get this message: http://i.imgur.com/1LqVOB4.jpg

So I still can only boot with -x, which won't let me use the nVidia drivers then it seems :o

This is so frustrating as it is a native "for Mac" GPU :/

I actually have big problems following the instructions, I don't really get them, what to do etc...

I think I will just stop here. Thank both of you very much, but I feel Mavericks isn't for this system; it doesn't stop at the boot, I just realised that Spotlight is beyond repair (won't work no matter what I do) and I can't mount FAT formatted drives. I saw some people, also here on InsanelyMac, who had the same issue but the links used for fixing aren't working anymore; I try for around two weeks now to properly install Mavericks on this machine (given I can only work on it in the evening), and I'm a bit exhausted... ML did run well it seems, and I think I will just stay with that instead now.

Sorry for the inconvenience :/ however it wasn't all for the waste, I'll install ML with MyHack now and possibly make a much better install than before :)

Hello

There're the instructions:

For some cards it may be necessary to insert its device ID into the file Info.plist of kexts NVDAResman, NVDANV40Hal (series 6xxx and 7xxx), NVDANV50Hal (series 8xxx and up) and NVDAGF100Hal (series 4xx and up).

Edit the file Info.plist and insert the ID of your card (0xDeviceIDVendorID) into key IOPCIPrimaryMatch or IOPCIMatch

Exemple:

<key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key>
<string>0x06e410de</string>

Just try make this

It seemed more important to add the hexadecimal EFi string that I have trouble finding out, also in which kexts di I add it, in all of them or only NVDAResman.kext? It's all only documented for the GeForce cards, I think I get to my limits; and it doesn't repair the FAT thing, too :(

Hello

You can only edit NVDAResman, NVDANV40Hal i don't know if NVDANV40Hal exist in Mavericks SO.... If don't exist it just edit NVDAResman, don't edit nothing beyond this...

In safe  mode(-x) HDD,usb stick.... formated in FAT/FAT32/NTFS doesn't load, only open things formated in GUID

Your card is a kind complex to enable in OSX and i never find until now a guide to Quadro :( But as i said, you can try the guide for GeForce and see if works

Hi Pimentel,

ah, that makes sense. So most likely I can mount FAT when -x is gone, ok :)

So I only have the NVDAResman (and a few others beginning with NVDA but not the -NV40Hal)

Then I looked in System Info: http://i.imgur.com/4CIhGkn.png

When editing the Info.plst, I didn't found IOPCIPrimaryMatch or IOPCIMatch so I added it. I attached the Info.plist so you can see what I did

Then I restarted, -x is still required, can't boot without it. Back in OSX, the OS tells me that the NVDAResman.kext is wrong and won't be used... :(
