[GUIDE] Yosemite 10.10.x on Lenovo IdeaPad Z580

Hi all,

I just got Yosemite 10.10.0 installed on this laptop. I still need to tested it but so far it is looking good. Link with the info is in my signature for anyone who would be interested.

I will be updating this post with detailed guide after some more testing.

Few limitations:
SD Card Reader is not working
USB 3.0 ports are fully working but in 2.0 mode
LCD brightness  works via ACPI Fn+UpArrow/DownArrow (GenericBrightness.kext was giving Kernel Panic when trying to switch users - removed)

My webcam doesn't work when I load GenericUSBXHCI. My guess is that the webcam is connected to the same USB Hub as 3.0 ports are. I was also having issues with Bluetooth so I decided to

rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleUSBXHCI.kext

and not to use GenericUSBXHCI for now.
