Hackmodford
I currently have mavericks running just fine using clover as the bootloader. When I upgrade to Yosemite, will I need to change anything besides the boot option for kext dev mode? Do I need a special version of clover? I'm hoping the upgrade will be seamless... falanx
No need for a special Clover version but it's always good to update it for the latest version, maybe you will have to fix your audio, depends which method you use to patch your AppleHDA and you won't need to use kext-dev-mode because that's for developer previews and now it's going to be a public release. GP1138
I'm stuck at upgrading -- my install partition is MBR. Any way to slipstream the MBR patch into the .app installer?
Hackmodford
Here's some more info regarding my situation. I am using Clover with UEFI AppleHDA.kext is auto patched (I don't need to reinstall kext every update) I'm failing to find a reason why the update won't "just work". If anyone thinks I've missed something please let me know
falanx
For me it "just worked"! So go ahead! I had to modify my dummyhda because the version numbers have changed and I need it to load before the applehda kexts. So go ahead and try it. For safety measures I'd suggest that you make a installer usb so if anything goes wrong(you are left without electricity in the middle of the update) then you can easily reinstall Mac OS X.
