Intel HD3000 using eDP (embedded display port)

This is more like a wish list for courageous competent devs...

 

My experience with trying to get Acer W700 with sandybridge hybrid HM77 with Intel HD3000 graphics ended up with failure on graphics because the LCD screen uses eDP instead of LVDS.

 

This is a stupid corner cutting decision by Acer, but I bought the Tablet, so I tried.

If one can fool the Azul kext AppleIntelFramebufferAzul.kext into loading the 0x01168086 HD3000, that would be the trick to get eDP used, as Azul can deal with eDP connectors.

 

Any specialist comments on this?
