Unable to use 5 GHz band

Hi!

I just installed this new TP Link Card WDN4800 and it does wonders wirelessly. However, I'm still unable to find de 5 GHz band. I have an ASUS N66U Router with two different SSIDs, one for 2.4 GHz and another for 5 GHz. While on PC I'm able to find and use the 5 GHz band, but not on the hackintosh.

I'm using an app called inSSIDer to find and measure intensity from the different SSIDs found around the house. I get listed every single network on the 2.4 GHz band and nothing on the 5 GHz one. I've included an image showing the current SSIDs detected (mine being the one highlighted).

Also, my the router Admin shows my connection is 2.4 GHz and I can't force the adapter to use the 5 GHz band.

Am I missing something? As far as I'm concerned there's no need to install any kexts in order to recognize the 5 GHz band, right? Then what should I do?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
