I think the nVidia 6xx series work well with GraphicsEnabler=No and original Apple kexts

It seems your display is not detected properly by your GT610 card.

I recommend you return to vanilla kexts as GT610 works OOB since Lion 10.7.5/ML 10.8.2. I've never had any problems with mine in L, ML, Mavericks or Yosemite with vanilla kexts: the screen model and its associated resolutions are always properly detected. I have a Dell 20" 1680x1050 LCD connected via the DVI port. I've had a 2nd Dell 19" 1280x1024 LCD via VGA and it also worked Ok; it was properly detected over the VGA connection too.

I have a Twintech GeForce GT610 2GB DDR3 (no DSDT data injection of any sort):

I use this type of DVI-D cable (VGA cable ends being full 15pin):

How find vanilla kext?

Hai pasticciato coi kext?

Con la 10.9.4 andava tutto bene?

Have you bungled with the kext?

With the 10.9.4 everything works fine?

We are on International section, we talk in english... :)

When I had 9400GT-9500GS vga and monitor are recognized (with SL/L/ML/Mavericks/Yosemite), when i changed 9400gt with gt610 i have the problem the monitor is not recognized. I had reinstalled OSX ML/Mavericks with same problem.

I don't know..1 Install OSX 10.9 with official kext 2 add Chamaleon 3 Patch Fakesmc etc.. 4 System work, vga is recognized..kext is ok..why monitor is not recognized?? i have more resolution in list but not 1980x1650?

Replaced Monitor Nec LCD22WV with asus VE228..and this monitor is correctly recognized with all resolution..with same kext. Why???

Seems your screen does not communicate properly with your card. It's not OS X related to me. Could be a simple matter of incompatibility with your screen/card combination. Try a different cable maybe.

You could always give a try to the Chameleon resolution.dylib module if you're not using it. You'll get it through the latest version of Chameleon Wizard.

Shutdown, plug Nec LCD22WV, Start OSX and voilà System recognize monitor correctly

Just reporting and saying thanks. A similar situation happens with me. I'm using Yosemite (10.10) on a Gigabyte Motherboard with a i3, Geforce GT 610, 2GB that provides 3 outputs: DVI, HDMI, VGA. This videoboard is always connect to a VGA LG E1941 monitor and to a HDMI AOC LCD Television.

Suddenly the VGA monitor stopped to be recognized by the system, this happens after a shift from Windows and reinstalled the Geforce video driver (I have one HD exclusive with Windows). In Yosemete It still outputs with QE/CI and correctly resolutions on HDMI but wrong default VESA 3x4 resolutions on VGA and cannot set to others because it was being recognized as a general "VGA Display". I tried a lot of things including remove the video card to see if it "reset to the factory settings" assuming that some instruction from the new GeForce Windows driver could change the way it operates. I also tried an DVI/VGA adaptor with no success

The only solution I found was use another VGA monitor, in my case was the same AOC LCD television that also have VGA input. Rebooted Yosemite with VGA plugged on the TV and it recognized the TV correctly with all resolutions, disconnected the VGA cable from the TV and connected in the LG E1941 monitor, the resolution keeps ok. Rebooted again with VGA cable in the LG monitor and, voila, it recognized the monitor again.

This is very weird. It is clear that some "handshake" process when connecting displays that make possible for the video cards to recognize the display monitor brand and model as well the possible resolutions. I think there is some bug in this process that makes the video card to not handshake properly with a display, once it happens the video card memory hold the wrong general VESA information about this display and do not run the "handshake" process again.

If the video card is connect to another display the video card is forced to run the "handshake" process again resetting the information and making possible to recognize again the first display.
