Frankiep
i have 2 noctua connected together (with a Y cable provided by noctua) on CHA FAN1 connector on the mainboard. The fans turns until OS X boots. As soon the gray screen with Apple logo appears, the fans stop to turn. Any idea?

Stefan Milev
What is the minimum rotation speed of this fans? What BIOS options do you have for this connector?
Gringo Vermelho
Maybe unrelated, but try this: Check the plugins folder inside fakesmc.kext and remove the ACPISensors plugin if it's there. If you still have fan troubles, remove all sensor plugins. Add them back in one by one, see what happens.

Gringo Vermelho
I'm not sure where to post bug report for LPCSensors.kext, first you should find out whether you're using Slice's or Kozlek's version. Then try the latest. I use Kozleks HWSensors package but I install everything by hand because I need to make some changes first. When you find out where to post, before you do, try to gather as much information you can about the sensor chip on your motherboard. If you're running Windows I think SpeedFan will tell you exactly what chip it is. I have an ASUS Z77 board and I use LPCSensors, CPUSensors and GPUSensors.kext only. This gives me all available readings. This board has a Nuvoton sensor chip, my old ASUS P5Q-E had a Winbond chip. There are various different models of both though. isorropisths
I've got the exact same prob, but even without FakeSMC it's doing it.. The weird thing is that the fan is not pwm, I can't control it at all, it's a 3pin fan! So I assume something is dropping the voltage.. Edit: Removing LPCSensors.kext fixes the issue, but no Fans & Voltages ! Maybe we need to patch this kext?
