TINYSHOTP
Hi, I've managed to install 10.9.0 on my laptop (MSI GT72 Dominator Pro) - http://usgaming.msi.com/Product/2014/Notebook/GT72-Dominator-Pro/ I've been struggling to get QE/CI on my laptop. his laptop comes with Intel 4600, and Nvidia 880M. According to the guide I followed, the Nvidia graphics card would not work properly with mavericks. Now this is where the problem sets in. I've tried using Clover, Chameleon (IntelAzulFB), and Chimera (IGPlatformID) but nothing's working. When I check "About This Mac", it always says the Nvidia card is being used, and even the device ID is the Nvidia device ID (I checked in windows), meaning GraphicsEnabler and IGPEnabler are only loading the nvidia card instead of the intel card. Does anyone know how I can force Mavericks to load only the intel 4600? By the way, If I don't delete the Nvidia kexts, I have to oot with nv_disable=1 or SkipNvidiaGFX=Yes, or else my screen goes black. Any help would be greatly appreciated! That being said, if thats the only way, I might have to try it.
netkrash
I have the same machine and I am able to use the HD4600 but I can't get acceleration working on it, it just displays as 7mb vram, I tried to make the nvidia card run but it reboots when it loads the driver.. I'll try again tomorrow, I still need to fix other issues such as keyboard/mouse support first

The intel card isn't even being loaded. For keyboard and mouse, just download the mavericks version of VoodooPS2Controller.kext
netkrash
oh really?, it does say Intel HD 4600 so I never thought it was the nvidia, all I know is I tried installing the web driver for nvidia and the machine just reboots right after loading the driver, so I need to disable the the driver with the nv_disable=1 boot param.. damn, I really hope they support this card natively at some point.. btw, did you got the webcam and internal mic working? those are the next on my list, I'll try the keyboard/mouse now, thanks, last time I added I got a kernel panic and couldn't boot until I entered in single mode and removed that extension. netkrash
this is what I get: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s251/sh/28221ee8-f514-4288-a46b-7cd9da9992ca/bc2e6be231abc3421896ac0ea26b4ea1/res/15bc7e1f-4853-4d5d-8ce5-3f21010e189b/skitch.png I followed the universal guide really added a few kext for ethernet, the voodoops2 thing you told me (which didn't worked for me yet) and a few for acpi battery manager and cpu. I am using: -v -dart=0 -nv_disable=1 boot flags. I still need to get the webcam, mic, keyboard sorted out, and hopefully the intel hd using full acceleration.. I have had a few crashes with chrome, using one extension in particular, but I'm almost sure it's due to the lack of acceleration for some reason. My machine is a GT70 2PE, not the GT72 but they are very, very similar.. EDIT: added link to the image

EDIT: added link to the image Netkrash, I have the exact same laptop as yours and I cant even get to installer GUI, could you tell me which guide you followed and which options perhaps? So far Ive tried clover (with KernelPm=true) and chameleon with a pathced kernel (for the instant reboot) but I cannot seem to get the gui working, i can boot in super mode (-s) fine but nothing more. I need your help please. Edit: So I was able to get the installer going by using the boot arguments you mentioned but after the installation it runs upto a point, something to do with blue tooth and then just stays there. BTW my laptop is MSI GP70 2PE - Intel 4710HQ Nvidia 840M Intel HD4600. Any help in terms of which extra kexts you might be using, Also did you patch your BIOS for PM or are you using a patched Kernel? chameleon? which version? Do you have an edited DSDT? Which SMBios? I am sorry I may be asking for too much, but I really am running on fumes here, need to get OSX going for a project using XCODE. So please Help! I have the MSI GT70 2PE - Intel 4810MQ - nVidia 880M, so they are very similar. I could never get the installer working with chamaleon but what worked was the Universal Clover install guide. I have to use this boot params: -v -dart=0 I did not used any patched kexts I did added one kext for the Killer E2200 ethernet card. Haven't patched the BIOS, I tried patching kext for IntelAzulFB but no luck so far, I have not tried to edit DSDT because I have no idea how to do that yet. I got close to fix the QE/CI with the mobile Intel HD4600, I got it to show artifacts, but any combination of framebuffers will result in either artifacts or not loading QE/CI at all.. For audio I had to use VoodooHDA but the mic doesn't work. That's all I can report on my situation, I'm still stuck trying to get the Intel HD acceleration working, after that mic and webcam if possible, only then I can use this machine for work
