Hello.

I have a MacBook air logic board A1034 and an SSD, an external monitor and an old battery. I have taken the PCB out of the SMART battery and found the battery pack is a dual rail supply. I have built a dual rail with LM317 and LM388 regulator ic's and connected it to the (once was) battery pack pads that soldered the battery terminal to the SMART battery pcb. This will power the logic board at full cpu speed, unlike using the charger PSU which cuts the cpu speed to half with no battery connected. The reason I did this is, planed obsolescence , ie: the smart battery is programed to be charged only a certain amount of time!!). I do not want to have to pay for a new battery time and time again. (Though I could flash the microchip but the quick fix was my best option).

So at this point I have a working mac, to all intents an purposes.

My problem is I do not know how to view the EFI via the external monitor.

It works all fine once booted up to login but I want to see EFI. Does anyone know how to do this please??? Surely it cant be that difficult to use the external monitor from the moment I turn on the mac? Please help.
