USB 3.0 is blue in colour, Your MB is powerful and new, you really don't need extra kexts. There are 2 USB port in the back, find the one that will work. USE MINIMUM number of kexts to start, i.e. FAKESMC. NullCpuPower only (use Clover because it patch AppleRTC just in case . You can figure out USB3.0 problem later. The installation stops at that point. Currently I have the graphics card unplugged and using hdmi slot on mobo What else could be stopping the installation process at that point? aww Posted August 20, 2014 Share Posted August 20, 2014 Try goto installer's extensions folder, show contents of IOUSBFamily, In Plugins Folder, remove AppleUSBEHCI* AppleUSBXHCI.kext Hange on USB 3.0 or something new! aww Posted August 21, 2014 Share Posted August 21, 2014 Your cpu has build in graphics Intel® HD Graphics 4600 may have problem working without patch kext and/or kernel GTX 780ti may need minor patches. google kext for both kexts. see bios has option to disable 4600 What niresh did in fail safe methods, is to delete all nvidia all intel and all amd kext so that one can OSX at 1024x768 (that may be your option) then you can download patched kexts for intel or nvidia to get it to work fully. My method is alway cloning on a difficult PC. 1. install a fresh osx on a intel pc that is working (can ask a friend, need 2 hr of his time) 2. clone it to a Hard drive, *USB HD also ok. (use CCC carbon copy cloner) 3. install loader on it, 4. remove problematic graphic, usb kexts from it (like niresh did) *then you should be able to boot it on the difficult PC. 5. download the patched kext/kernel to work to get it 100% working. If you don't have a compatible intel PC or a friend's help, Here is the alternative. 1. Install windows 7 or 8 or 8.1 2. install vmware workstion 10 (trial version is free) 3. download or create maverick1094.iso (12 steps from installer app will do) 4, download unlocker (here this site) 5. install unlocker (no need to install tools or svga II) 6. install Maverick1094 VM. 7. Use WS10 menu to clone mavericks VM 8. change setting of the first VM, add a hard drive (but use clone's vm hard drive as source) 9. Disk utility Make A DMG from the clone. (because disk util can not make a dmg from active partition, need to unmount it) 10. restore the DMG to a USB drive (flash or HD-mounted on a caddy) 11 install loader on the USB drive, 12 remove graphic and usb kexts from it's SLE 13. try boot and fix kexts / kernel problem from the usb (you can boot and run osx off a usb drive) 14. once get it working 100%, from USB running osx, install CCC and clone it to the internal HD. 15. aww Posted August 23, 2014 Share Posted August 23, 2014 Looks good! almost there! all you need to try to fix graphic problem! Did look at Ur MB's manul. no option to disable IGP. Do you have Ur GTX installed? Try to install with Intel graphic only, i tkink 10.9.4 is ok with 4600. Then consider your, boot loader option later. Ill switch over to the gtx post install after installing the drivers nvidia released for mac. thanks for all the help so far! EDIT: How do I get the 780ti, the ethernet, the sound and the wifi working if possible? I was thinking about buying the same MB, but too expensive for me. intel product guide shows dev id 8086 1559 for 1218v [drver provided for win and linux only] I do'nt know any working kext exist, linux & hackintosh groups were talking about it. (appear linux source code is available) While you wait, pickup an inexpensive Lan Card. Do check that the lan card has kext for it,first. (DLAN 530 cost 12.50 but no kext for 10.9) google HCL 10.9 network (to get some idea what card you should pickup) Z97 should have 6 intel USB3.0 ports, according to my mb vendor only 2 ports are asmedia 3.0. (you may get you usb 3.0 port working OOB, no 3rd party kext required) Asus did not disclose what wifi chip were used, best to try install windows and use system/dev-manager/driver-prop to find dev ID. (and post it, it did have a pic, shows mini-pcie connector. (worst case buy a third party mini-pcie wifi, not very expensive) according to some site (not want to mention name) Quote: However, there are still a few compatibility problems with the 700 and Titan series. I was stuck on audio, on my first hackintosh, an AMD machine, took a shortcut, i am into hifi, got a DAC (Grant Fidelity DAC-09 on sales for 150.00) connect it at 4800/24 usb, cannot tell any difference vs 19200/24 on optical.
