Hello everybody,

I'm having some trouble with my Dell Vostro 200 Slim Tower. I'm trying to install 10.9 on it with myHack. I'm using this guide: http://forum.osxlati...ericksyosemite/. I managed to install OS X, but when I try to boot, I get hung up at AppleKeyStore starting and then nothing else.

Specs:

FoxConn G33M02

Intel Core 2 Duo

Evga Geforce 210

4GB RAM

I'm not a n00b and I tried -x, -v, GraphicsEnabler=Yes/No, PCIRootUID=0/1, dart=0, -f, and all combinations of them.

Any ideas? I've tried DVI and HDMI, and even using the Niresh distro (Which worked, except when I booted, the graphics were showing weird colored fuzz, and it wasn't the card that was bad)

Thanks!

Can you post the exact message you get where it hangs when booting with -v?

nVidia G210 works OOB on that Vostro, I have tried one myself before.  Make sure you've configured your BIOS as detailed in the dedicated thread at the same site you found the guide.

I've updated my FakeSMC since the post where I included a copy of the /Extra folder. I'll post it if you want, but it's edited in the exact same way.

Well, I actually got past that. I don't know why it hung there, but it's fixed. The only thing is, I added the kexts from your bootpack and now I get kernel panic.

What does the KP refer to? There isn't much in the bootpack... You're supposed to use the entire /Extra, replacing any existing one, not just add the kexts. The pack I provided includes a fully patched DSDT + Chameleon boot plist + SMBIOS plist.

It has something to do with Sata controller dependencies. I had a theory something was wrong with the DSDT from past hackint0shes, and I was right. I guess this Dell hates the DSDT. It boots ok without it. And I also noticed that the kexts in the bootpack that I got from you don't seem to be working... I don't have audio, I don't have ethernet.... At least I have QE/CI lol.

Maybe you're not running the latest BIOS... Or your Vostro 200 SlimTower does not have the same hardware as mine.

Well, the bios yes, but the motherboard is the same (Foxconn G32M02). I just patched IOATAFamily.kext to work in IDE mode because I was having trouble with the whole bios situation. But I'll keep searching. Thanks.

Try and post the output of Terminal command lspci -nn so that we can compare hardware.

As you can see, it's all 100% identical, except graphics card of course since I have a GeForce GT610. Oh and my HDD controller is set in BIOS to AHCI. I'd say look at your BIOS and update/replace with modded BIOS and configure as per recommended settings. Everything is at that place where you got the initial guide.

Create your Mavericks USB installer with myHack v3.3.1 then re-run myHack again to install the Extra, using the boot pack I've provided. That's all I can say.

Haha I updated the bios to the modded one and switched to ACHI mode and now I get stuck at PCI configuration end (not begining). I also switched back to the vanilla IOATAFamily.kext. Are there any specific bios settings?

The recommended settings (known to be working) are published here.
