I just finished my new mini-ITX build this week

here are the main components :

  1. Asus Z97i-Plus Motherboard
  2. Intel Core i5-4690
  3. Asus GTX 770 DirectCU II
  4. Corsair 8GB RAM

Install configuration :

  1. Using Apple Store installer
  2. Clover bootloader (v2k r2795) check file below
  3. VoodooHDA (VoodooHDA_V286_MAV.pkg found in on sourceforge)
  4. iMac 14,2 smbios

what works :

  1. The Wi-Fi card + Bluetooth + Ethernet
  2. GTX 770 (this is just works, I think you need disable the intelHD on the bios )
  3. Sound (using VoodooHDA)
  4. Native Power Management, generate using clover
  5. Sleep (I think it works)

This is the best hackintosh build that I made so far

I hope this information useful for some peoples

Thanks, just saw that.. works like a champ.

I am confused though now.  I just used your EFI files.. I had Ethernet enabled by using the AppleIntelE1000e.kext.  You don't have that, yet networking is working fine now.  Did you do something in the config.plist to get networking to work?  I'm just confused as to why this is working now with no AppleIntelE1000e.kext.

Thanks

I enable FixLAN_2000 on the config file

so clover fix/patch your DSDT for the Ethernet to work

There are also "IONetworkingFamily.kext" on the kext folder

I think I read somewhere on the forum about this :P

Hi,Glad to hear that someone was able to get this setup going on Mavericks.I have similar setup minus the video card and I am having a torrid time getting past that white screen spinning wheel into the installer on ##### USB, so any pointers would help thanks.

I have exactly the same problem ( including the censored part :) ).

At first I try install it without VGA card since it still on delivery.

But unfortunately the intel graphics is not properly supported yet, especially the desktop one.

I found no fix/patch that works.

I suggest install/use any Kepler based nVidia card.

So your posts are confusing. Have you successfully installed Mavericks on your system or not? Above you said your video card is on delivery...

Like vancity I am running onboard graphics. I can't even get to the install screen.

Are you using a DSDT and SSDT file?

sorry for not being so clear :)

my current system is exactly like on the first post,

I mean that I also try installing the OSX when my system is not equipped with the nvidia card, because back then the card is still on delivery.

When my system is not equipped with the nvidia card, the Installer also stuck after the verbose text.

I think it because the intel graphics is not fully supported yet (even with patch).

I'm not using any DSDT and SSDT files

the DSDT and SSDT is generated by clover

you can check the attched file on first post for my configuration with clover.

Hi aankun,
I have similar hardware:

Asus Z97 Deluxe
Core i7 4770K
2x8GB Corsaire RAM
Asus GTX760 Direct CU II

but I'm not able to get the Mavs installer to launch whatever bios setting I put.
Can you help me through this ?

Only difference I'm seeing is he Clover version, I'm using the latest which is later than yours (r2830) .... Will give a try and change this.

EDIT - r2795 not working better...

These are some things you can try

1. Bios Setting

First reset to default

Boot/Secure Boot/OS Type  = Other OS

Advanced/USB Config/xHCI Mode = Auto

Advanced/System Agent Config/Graphics Config/Primary Display = PCIE

Advanced/System Agent Config/VT-d = disable

X.M.P (usually you can find this easily on first page of the bios ) = profile #1

2. Try this installer : rampagedev.wordpress.com/os-x-10-8-mountain-lion

I know it say mountain lion on the url but the article content is Mavericks

The "UEFI Clover Install Method" on the page is recommended

You can try using my clover config and kext on the first post for the installer

3. In some case, when installing use only one memory stick (you can put it back after instalation)

This one is most likely a rare case

I also unplug the other HDD except the one I want to use as the OSX system, just in case :P

I plug the other HDD back after installing bootloader for the OSX

Good luck

So you have it working now? This is after you installed a graphics card? I'm pretty sure it's possible to install mavericks with the intel graphics. I'm pretty sure I've seen other builds that are using the onboard intel hd4600.

Yes it working now with GTX770

I have no luck with the hd4600

Can't find any working patch for that.

Guys, please help the noob I'm stuck being...

I have tried everything...

My BIOS settings are exactly as you said (I check that the VT-D setting has no influence at all on the boot process as far as I can say)

Set my primary display as my GTX 760 (PCIE)

xHCI set to Auto

I couldn't find XMP...

With you Clover EFI folder, I'm stuck at my UID Serial

With the Rampagedev setting I'm going a little further: "TSC Deadline Timer supported and enabled" but nothing after that... I also have NO debug error message, so I really don't know where the problem comes from.

I don't know who I can turn to if not you aankun, you have the most similar hardware to mine...

You can find XMP profile on  Ai Tweaker -> Ai Overclock Tuner -> XMP

and then below that you XMP -> Profile #1

on the rampagedev website, have you change this ?

Part 3: BIOS Settings

1. Disable CSM

.......

This is how I made my installer

Hey aankun,

I'm currently on the bus heading to my office, just watched your video...

I don't care if it works or not, but you taking time to make a video and show all the steps up to the install screen.... I just want to say thank you !!!!

Will try for sure when I'm back home this evening.

Just a question. On the ramepagedev hasweĺ.dmg, i found an sdst.aml file that i put on my clover/acpi/patched/ folder (remembered that from my previous dell laptop hackintosh trial), did I do right? If not, what´s the purpose of that file?

It's easier for me to explain using video than a long list of images :D

I think the hasweĺ.dmg file is used after the instalation

But I don't use that file

The same with sdst.aml file, I don't use it.

sdst.aml is file that contain information on how the CPU will perform

usually related to power management.

The reason I don't use that file is because clover will generate the file for you.

Unless you use a very brand new type of processor that clover can't recognize

or you want to use different performance setting for your processor (usually to make it run slower/cooler when idle)

that is the time to create/build and use ssdt.aml file

with my current setting (auto generated ssdt) my processor is running very well when iddle

at 800MHz, that is very low.

I recommended to remove it on the installer flash disk, but you can try put it after installation is done :)

I saw you screenshot, I see that the problem is this line

post-1128849-0-33746100-1409036790_thumb.png

can you send me another screenshot of the clover screen.

When clover boot there will be some icon for the HDD and some smaller icon

go to the smaller icon that says "Options" and then go to DSDT fix mask

there will be some long checklist, take that screenshot

EDIT :

I've found one thread on the other forum (toxxxxxx86) that johndsm and RehabMan discussing similar problem

use this keywords on google "Clover Does not launch Mavericks Installer"

Hey,

Unfortunately, no more luck...

I have followed your video step by step. Except the one where you launch the rampagedev command line, I assume it's the famous "sudo [..] createinstaller [..]" command line to copy the MacOSX Mavericks Installer into the Clover GUID partition in that case (I already performed so and it's taking sooooo much time....)

Here are the settings I changed right after I reloaded my BIOS defaults:

  • AI Tweaker/X.M.P Profile = Auto
  • Advanced/USB Config/xHCI Mode = Auto
  • Advanced/System Agent Config/Graphics Config/Primary Display = PCIE
  • Advanced/System Agent Config/CPU Config/Intel Virtualization = Disabled
  • Boot/Secure Boot/OS Type  = Other OS
  • Boot/CSM Launch = Disabled

I have also tried disabling everything from the BIOS:

  • Bluetooth
  • WiFi
  • Both Ethernet Controllers

I copied the Kext files as shown in your video, the only thing is you package seems to be missing the following files:

  • AHCI...3rdP....SATA.kext
  • ExOreboot.kext
  • GenericUSBXHCI.kext
  • IONetworkingFamily.kext

My EFI/Clover/Kexts/10.9/ folder contains only the following files:

  • bcm4352.kext
  • BTFirmwareUploader.kext
  • FakeSMC.kext

And my EFI/Clover/Drivers64UEFI folder the exact same files as per your video.

I edited the config.plist and replaced nvdia_drv=1 by -v to get to verbose mode everytime.

It's stuck right after it shows my root UUID number...

My DSDT fix mask shows the following selected (a little plus sign)

  • Drop_DSM : 0x0000
  • AddDTGP
  • Fix Darwin
  • Fix Shutdown
  • Fix HPET
  • Add SMBUS
  • Fix Display
  • Fix LAN
  • Fix Sound
  • Fix Regions

I'm using my 2 x 4GB RAM modules, I shall try to use just one, but I'm pretty sure I'll get the same ... nothing...

What am I doing wrong...

Is there "Profile #1" on you X.M.P setting?

if present try "Profile #1"

yes the command line is pretty much for copy the installer to usb stick

post-1128849-0-35432600-1409097571_thumb.png

are you still using the ssdt file?

if yes try remove it from the installer.

and try also add "NullCPUPowerManagement.kext" to the kext folder

NullCPUPowerManagement.kext.zip

Hi guys.

Eventually, I reinstalled the latest Clover version [r2850].

I didn't use any of your files aankun, but another config.plist.

The farthest I could go on the launcher - using Clover's "without cache with injected kexts" option - is:

755335IMG0343.jpg

I'm know getting the apparently famous "still waiting for root device" message...

From what I could read on the subject, it has something to do with the SATA setting.

I confirm I have set it on BIOS to AHCI (not IDE, not RAID, not DISABLED).

I have also tried to put AppleACPIPlatform.kext and/or Totallyfixstillwaiting.kext files on the S/L/E and/or the kext/10.9/ Clover folder on my pendrive with no more success.

I guess the screenshot is clear, we get an errors at the AppleUSBEHCI initialization process.

Any idea how to fix that?
