This is the error I'm getting "Unable to sign in because of a problem communicating with ____" These are the thing's I've tried,

  • Nvram 1.1.3
  • I have a serial number generated from Chameleon Wizard in SMBios
  • My system id has a mac address attached to the end of it (does it matter that all the digits before the mac address is filled with zeros?)
  • Ethernet built in is enabled and the ethernet is set to en0
  • I've added the hex string for my ethernet adapter from EFI Studio and added that to Device Properties in Chameleon Wizard
  • I am also running Chameleon r2378

I've gotten almost everything to work minus the audio with voodoo being a big noisy on the highs. Other wise, this is the last thing I need to work! Any thoughts and/or solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

@HighMans,

What are your hardware/software specs and your OSX version?  Please put these in your signature so others can more easily help you....

Have a look at @pokenguyen's AIO guide and ensure you have the basics ie working NVRAM, ethernet set to en0.

As a test, post the output of running the imessage_debug tool (of course you can hash some of the characters in the serials out for security purposes)

The only proven ways to get iMessage/Facetime working on a hack is to

  1. Use genuine serials from a Mac or validated working hackintosh (eg by calling Apple Support) - see my procedure using El Nono's imessage_debug tool.
  2. Adding a credit card to your AppleID

The best is option 1 but it requires access to a real Mac....

Good Luck!

1. I'll change my hardware specs right after I click post.

2. I'll check out the imessage_debug tool after I'm done with youtube lol

3. I've added a credit card to my apple account... I might just get a legit serial and add it to my hackintosh.

Okay, so I've changed my serial number to a legit one and to no avail. Here's the log:

(Not my serial number + it can be found online.)

Also, I'm pretty sure en0 and nvram is working fine.

Looks like something wrong with your basic setup or NVRAM since IOPower variables are failing to generate.  If you've done everything correctly, the values outputted by imessage_debug on your hack will be identical to those generated on your Mac (except the kbjfrfpoJU value).

Try Clover 2795

Also when i say genuine serials, I mean all from the same Mac ie IOPlatformSerialNumber, IOPlatformUUID & System-ID, ROM & MLB.  The most important being ROM & MLB.

Edit1

You may have to format your EFI partition as described in this post by @Maniac10.

What is the output of running diskutil list in OSX terminal?

Alternatively, it might be wiser to get more familiar with Clover by installing it on a FAT32 formatted MBR USB and tweaking its config.plist (until you know it can boot) before nuking chameleon on your hard disk....

Edit2

I just noticed that you are not using a vanilla kernel from this post iMessage/Facetime will only work with a vanilla kernel (not the no xcpm compiled kernel)- this explains the imessage_debug results you got in post#4.  You have the same result as @PHC and see @theconnactic's reply #416.
