ASUS Z87-Pro - Mac OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite

MB: ASUS Z87-Pro (BIOS 1602)
CPU: Intel i5 4760K
Storage: WD 250Gb Black (Mac OSX) + SSD 128Gb (Windows 8.1) + Other storage HD's in NTFS
GPU: MSI 580GTX Lightning 1536MB PCIE
RAM: 8GB G-Skill DDR3-2400
Wireless: Apple iMac WF-AC360 Desktop PCI-1X BCM94360CD
Monitors: ASUS (2K) DVI + LED LG (1080p) HDMI
 
 

1. Create a bootable USB Flash Drive
Topic that I follow: Easy Yosemite 10.10 Final USB Installer

• Format the USB Fash Drive in GUID and name it "Install"
   
• Insure the OS X Yosemite.app is in your Application folder
   
• In terminal run the following script
  

  sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Install --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Yosemite.app --nointeraction
  

• Now install Clover_v2k_r3061 (or newer) to the Install USB
   
• Follow this options:
  
  
  
   
•  Run Clover Configurator [check in the Inject Nvidia if you have a GTX 580 like me]
   
• Copy FakeSMC kexts to /EFI/Clover/kexts/10.10 
   
• Reboot PC and select to start with the USB Flash Drive in UEFI mode
   
• In Clover menu, select the USB Flash Drive

2. Make the Yosemite installation on the HDD
After get to the installation menu:

• Format in GUID the HDD where you wanna put the Mac OSX Yosemite
   
• Make the normal steps of the installation

3. Pos-Install
�  Make HDD bootable
 
     0. Convert the EFI partition in FAT32 (This step is only for people that don't have there EFI partition in FAT32 yet)
 

Yes, the EFI must be FAT32, otherwise it won't work. In a terminal type this:

diskutil list

Identify the EFI partition's id "rdiskXsY" and use it in the command below:

newfs_msdos -v EFI -F 32 /dev/rdiskXsY

Now you can run the Clover installer, select the Yosemite partition as target and in the "customize" screen select "Install Clover in the ESP". Of course all this works only for UEFI boot, otherwise for legacy you'll need to install the loader in the MBR as well by selecting boot0af or boot0ss from the installer's "bootloader" submenu. 

 

• Run Clover_v2k_r3021 (or newer)
  Follow this options:
  
   
• Run Clover Configurator [check in the Inject Nvidia if you have a GTX 580 like me]
   
• Copy FakeSMC kexts to /EFI/Clover/kexts/10.10 

3.1 Fixes
�  Fixing iCloud login problem (needed when I don't have the wireless card)
Removing /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist

Install HDAEnabler7 + AppleHDA-267.00-ALC1150 from Mirone post: AppleHDA For Yosemite - DP's
 
�  Fixing Ethernet
Running Hackintosh Vietnam Tool and install kext AppleIntel1000e

You don't need to create a USB just run the retail Public beta installer and it will create an entry in Clover UEFI for you to boot the installer from

 

 

Long as you got a working Clover UEFI setup for Mavericks, that method will work fine as well. Just make sure you enable kext dev mode=1 in Clover Configurator for your config.plist or else it won't boot at all

I have my Mavericks working on Chameleon but can give it a try to Clover, even still I don't like the idea of having to install 10.9 to then update to 10.10, still I will give it a try

Yeah I would do that, also there advantages right now over just installing 10.10 directly from a pre made USB as the retail installer will create an official Recovery HD partition for you like in real macs and allow you to use Find my Mac
