[SOLVED] too high temperature of the CPU core

Hello. I thought it was normal to have CPU cores on the 70°, but then I knew there is HWMonitor for windows and I wanted to try it. I've been several hours using Windows and I have rarely exceeded 50°, so maybe there was something to tweak that I miss in my hack! In fact building my hackintosh I never thought so much to power energy management, I was so worried to solve other problems of an installation by newbie. I remember that in Mavericks installation I did not selected anything about power management and I just enabled C and P states in ocbp. But I think that higher temperature reduces the potential life of my PC. Any suggestions? What are the kext interested in? What can I do decrase the temperature?

Thank you

This is the result:

kextstat | grep LPC
   32    0 0xffffff7f819d0000 0x16000    0x16000    org.hwsensors.driver.LPCSensors (280) <20 11 7 5 4 3>
   89    0 0xffffff7f81ec7000 0x3000     0x3000     com.apple.driver.AppleLPC (1.7.0) <72 11 5 4 3>

Cpu and mobo are in signature (MOBO: GIGABYTE GA-P55-USB3 - CPU: INTEL I5-760 2.80GHZ ). Unfortunately I discovered that my cpu is not Sandy bridge (as I thought) but clarkdale, so the SSDT script is useless.

I don't have nullcpupowermanagement (you mean the kext in SLE, I suppose).

@marco.pisellonio80,

Those CPU temps do seem high. What SMBIOS do you use?

I have very similar specs to you and my temps are much lower:

GA-P55aUD3/Intel i5-750/XFX Radeon 5770

SMBIOS iMac 11.3, Clover Generated P & C States

Temps from Kozlek's HWMonitor and iStat Menus range between 30-40 deg C. Get only 2 p states with iMac SMBIOS according to DPCI Manager

Maybe check your case ventilation and fans for dust as well...

Good Luck

Hmmm, thank you all.

vusun123, I don't have AppleintelCPUMP and NullCPUMP in SLE, never had.

I had smbios iMac 11.3, but Apple store didn't works, so I changed in Mac pro 4.1, and now it works. This could be the reason...

I will try with HPET patch, and I will install next 10.9.5 version with smbios iMac 11.3.

I don't have time to test now, but It seems go better :). CPU multiplier is x9 (before it was x22), and for now the degrees are 55°, all cores, and not increasing, but now I have to shutdown. I'll give you my news soon.

But, wich is the function of PStateChanger app? I was not able to change anything... I suppose that the voodoo kext made the difference? Or not?
