Hi All,

I gave up on the Asus P5N-D Board I had (Could only get Leopard installed), So i won an Asus P5E-VM HDMI from eBay, still keen to build a hackintosh, however I seem to have alot more trouble with this one :(

I can boot a few Distros, but all of them either fail the install or the Lion USB method gives me "Still Waiting for Root Device" error.

Anyone got a complete hackintosh beginners guide to installing Lion on this Mobo?

The instructions i got with the pack i downloaded are as follows:-

"Important: This read me is based on Asus P5e-VM hdmi mainboard with Bios version 0709

Steps:
1. Get a usb-stick with 8gb or more and copy Lion 10.7 on it.
If u don't know how just look here:
Never use the package: Extra_Lion.pkg.zip!
(important software is alrdy included in this package - u don't have to download it)

2. If ur flahs-stick is ready and Lion is installed on ur drive, boot ur fresh system by using the boot loader on ur flash-stick.

3. /Bootloader/
Install chameleon on ur Lion HDD using
Chameleon-2.1svn-r1431.pkg (check all boxes in the installer)
and Chameleon-2.1svn-r1446.pkg

4. /Kext
Run the Extra Lion DP4.pkg on ur Lion HDD.
Startup Kext Wizard - goto >install and drag AttansicL1Ethernet.kext & VoodooHDA.kext into the white space and push "install".
Goto >maintenance and check "System/Libary/Extensions" and push start.
At this point all necessary drivers will be installed.

5. /Extra
Copy dsdt.aml , org.chameleon.Boot.plist , smbios.plist to:
Lion_hdd/extra
(Use the shortcuts included in this package to go there - "extra alias")
Delete the file "com.apple.boot.plist" (its not used anymore and causes error messages on startup)

Done.
Cross fingers and restart ur Hackingtosh. Hopefully its working now :-)

Known issue: if ur network (Lan) is not working: start the system app > network > chose ur lan device and click "apply". After some minutes the network will work (I'm sure of it)."

I hope someone can help me get this board working, starting to think i shouldn't have bothered lol.

Dave
