So my Mavericks Hackintosh used #####, but I understand I have to use Clover for Yosemite. I created a custom USB installer for Yosemite using one of the many guides, including putting on the hidden files etc, and installing clover to it (3692 I think?)

Wouldn't boot - just kept reverting to the HDD. In the end I got impatient and decided to try writing clover to the HDD (at least that will force it to either work or totally screw up. It was the later, obviously ;)

Any help would be cool guys... I'm trying to upgrade Mavericks to Yosemite BTW

Ok so I'm getting further... using the UEFI boot option, I've managed to get into clover, BUT! I don't know which option to choose as I am trying to *upgrade* my installation of Mavericks. All the guides seem to suggest this can be done, but not how.

Specifically, I don't know whether to choose:

- Boot from Yosemite installer

- Boot from OSX on Mavericks

- Boot from Installer on OSX Mavericks

I cannot get 'Boot from Yosemite installer to fire up (just goes to the grey Apple logo) even if I use the boot args "-s kext-dev-mode=1" as per the guide.

The 'Boot from Installer on OSX Mavericks' works with these options but gets stuck...?

Boot in verbose mode, we can't tell you much more with only that description. Do you have FakeSMC in the kexts/10.10 folder? Do you boot by selecting "With Injected Kexts"? It won't boot without it. Which guide are you following?

I'm following this guide: http://rochetechnolo...hackintosh-tip/

Is the FakeSMC generic, or do I need a specific one for my motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H

I created a 10.10 in /EFI/CLOVER/kexts and put the FakeSMC.kext I found online into it. But not sure if it's the right one, if it's in the right place etc..

Can't find a verbose mode, or anything about injecting kexts.... as per the guide I linked to I've been trying with the following in boot args:

    -s kext-dev-mode=1

Just placing FakeSMC in /CLOVER/kexts/10.10 will do. Now to see the menu options I've mentioned, in Clover's GUI press space bar over the entry you want to boot to.

Still I would recommend you to follow a tested guide with actual Q&A like this one, or this other one for Chameleon.

Hello

also you need put Nullcpupowermanagement in EFI/Clover/kexts/10.10

kext-dev-mode=1 must be in boot arguments in config.plist

remove -s and add -v

Other thing that wor to me... let Clover install a Default installation into your usb installer

Odd.. I don't have '*with* injected kexts on the spacebar menu. I have *without* injected kexts?!

The other thing I don't understand is that if I boot from the USB key, there is no 'install yosemite' option - I only get that if I choose 'Clover OS X Boot' at the bios boot menu. I guess that doesn't matter too much...

Can't find boot arguments in config.plist so am putting it in options each time.

I'll see if I can attach some screen grabs

You have *Without* because Clover detected the selected partition doesn't have FakeSMC, so it changed the default value to force kext injection. That's working as intended. What I don't see in your logs is FakeSMC, it should be visible right after AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement:

Ok so that binaries download won't let me install it on my USB 'Yosemite installer' - ummm, am I missing the point here, or could that be what the problem is (it says it's not OS X on the USB, so can't install there)? Maybe I need to start from scratch again?

I guess my main problem is that I can't boot at all now. I've tried running the chameleon wizard on my macbook, but obviously it wants to install the boot loader on that, which is no good (it's already running Yosemite anyway lol) ;)

Not quite sure where to go from here. I previously managed to get into Mavericks on the Hackintosh through Clover, but even that's not working now - I get the apple screen and then it just shuts itself down!

Ok, I've somehow managed to get it through to the install! I think I was missing the kextload part ;) Only problem now is that it hasn't loaded the USB bluetooth driver, so it's prompting me to turn on my mouse or trackpad... any idea how I could get that working - do I need to do another kextload or something?

Plugged a USB mouse in. The install bombs though, saying the disk verify failed?! Any ideas - full log here: http://pastebin.com/7qsTG0Vj
