A die shrinkage isn't all that's coming to broadwell, some minor video improvements have been confirmed for the chip. Which adds VP8 hardware decoding, as well as two independent stream decoders to boost video decoding performance and speed. The TDP can be as little as 3.5W and as high as 4.5 Watts.

This is great news for apple! despite only being dual core processors, these pack a powerful punch, allowing apple to create a smaller MacBook without compromising size, battery life or performance. In fact some rumors clam that it'll be even thinner then the current MacBook Air! Stunning!

Let me know if you're as excited as I am about what apple has in store for us in the upcoming months!

Hello

It is very good to know that Apple released new products, but ....

I honestly didn't ike the Macbook Retina 12", now every time apple wants to launch smaller mackbooks, I just ask myself: How am I going to work decently on a screen of 12 "? I don't see good results in this?.

What I really wanted was that Apple release again the MacBook Pro 17 " it was very beautiful and I could work on it comfortably. Now if Apple release the MacBook Pro Retina 17" I really would appreciate it :) and I think the other users of apple products too.

I'm too old to see much on a 12 or 13-inch screen.  That's one of my main reasons for having a hack.  I like my full HD 17-inch screen.  The CPU interests me but that's about it.

for web browsing, 12 inches is plenty :)

besides, most old people can see on an iPad... for some people (like some of my friends), when they work, they have an external monitor and when they aren't working, they use an old netbook. This would be a good replacement for them too... And for me, an 12' LCD in my VAIO is plenty. I do work on my old T43.

I recently changed Mac to an 11" Air this year and I've gotta say the 11" screen is plenty - unless you're a Photoshopper/Final Cut professional I think the resolution is comfy IMO. 12" retina would be sweet, looking forward to seeing if this does actually make the light of day.

I feel like the 12 inch could possibly replace the 11 inch MBA, perhaps a bigger display without increasing the size of the bezel? If it can be done with a phone I don't see why it couldn't be done with a notebook. If it's not replacing the 11 inch, then yeah, that would definitely be strange to have 11, 12, and 13 inch sizes... I don't see why they don't bring back the 17 inch. Personally I think 13 inches is perfect for me but for people that prefer a larger screen on a notebook, a higher resolution 15 inch isn't a viable replacement for any 17 inch screen regardless of the resolution.
