dsTny
Hey guys, I installed Yosemite and have a problem with native power management. On older versions of OS X I use a NullCPU kext (my system lagged a little bit, but not too much, so this was okay for me). Now, on Yosemite, I have to use a NullCPU kext, because otherwise my system is very, very, very, very, very, very, .. slow (so I can't use it). But now I get following error: kernel[0]: ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - waitForService(resourceMatching(AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement) timed out In Yosemite, I want to use native power management because my system lags especially in Mission Control and Application windows but also in other situations. Also I want to have longer battery life So the lags of the system maybe caused by my graphic card (which I have also problems I wrote in this thread) but I think also by not active power management. TL;DR: Can you pleaaaaaaase help me activating native power management on my system in Yosemite? I use Clover for the first time (and don't want to change it if possible ). My config.plist is attached, my DSDT you can download in this thread). If you need anything else, please ask me and I try to help as much as I can I would be really happy if we get native power management working Thank you!! /edit: And please tell me how to check P/C States in Yosemite so I can check this config.plist.zip
Allan
Try this: config.plist.zip
dsTny
Seems good, starting was as fast as with NullCPU kext. Thank you! Console output: 15/07/14 21:09:00,000 kernel[0]: AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement: (built 01:49:28 May 24 2014) initialization complete 15/07/14 21:09:00,000 kernel[0]: AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient: ready How can I check if states are correctly running in Yosemite? And is config.plist patching as good as creating ssdt? Because it seems that MaciASL could also create a ssdt Thank you again <
Allan
For check states install HWMonitor: http://sourceforge.net/projects/hwsensors/ only FakeSMC and CPUSensors And for your Hardware, you don't need SSDT, Clover generate automatic.
dsTny
Okay cool, thank you. The only thing is that some states are available, but will be often skipped But this seems to be right. But Mission Control, Application windows and switching desktops still lags (see attachment). But I think this is a graphic (or beta?) problem, so I have to check the GPU. Especially its core (installed GPUSensors, too) in Windows, because it stands on 475 Mhz ans memory on 399 Mhz. But this is no problem So there is really no performance difference between SSDT and the generated one from Clover (also not at startup?)? Otherwise I would try to generate on from MaciASL (I have just to place the SSDT in patched folder, haven't I?) And just one another question, then you can close this thread: You input an other SMBios (MacPro3,1) than me (MacBookPro6,1) - why you did this and would it have any effect (positive or negative) if I change it back to MacBookPro? As far as I know the SMBios affects the power management and graphic driver - and for my notebook a MacBookPro SMBios would be the best, wouldn't it? Thank you very much again for your (fast and perfect) help and work! /edit: Okay, I definetely have to check my graphic card. Windows outputs me lower frequencies for longer battery life.. That is your graphics I would think doing it I replied in your other thread showing the edit needed to get the power management of it working properly.
Allan
About Mission control and effects, per hour is bug. SSDT is not necessary for you, but, if you want try, not problem. I set Macpro 3,1 because the CPU, in some cases, is very compatible, but, if you want try, then try..... PS: Use MacBookPro5,1. MacBookPro6,1 is best for core i5/i7.
dsTny
Okay thank Allan, you help me a lot! I saw that this lags are only if I am connected with my Dell monitor. If I disconnect it, it seems that my notebook runs very smoothly Don't know if that is the bug you wrote about or maybe still my notebook (maybe a short response on that? ).. But I can live with that at the moment Thank youuuu @MacUser2525: Thank you, too I will check the other thread and now work on my graphic card
